If you could have played just one note from any song...

I was reading something a while back where a magazine was interviewing two guitarists (Yngwie Malmsteen and another guitarist I can't remember)and asked them, if you could have played one note from any song what would it be. The guitarist I can't remember said a specific note from a Hendrix song and Yngwie copied his answer and said the same note from the same song.

So what I am asking is what would your choice be? Mine is gonna be the whammy bar harmonic at 6:40 in Cemetary Gates by Pantera.

That's an interesting choice. I was beginning to doubt anyone would respond.

    Interesting subject......

I think that interview originaly appeared in GUITAR FOR THE PRACTICING MUSICIAN back in the 80's.....

Yngwie & Billy Sheehan were being interviewed...Malmsteen & TALAS were touring together....

    Interview probably by John Stix......

    Yeah...pick one note.......very Kewl!!!

The note they were talking about was "Machine Gun" from Band Of Gypsies...

...If I played one note from any song, it would be the note Hendrix plays on "Machine Gun" from Band Of Gypsies.

A single note? That's hard for me to decide...I'd say the sustained note at the ending of All Along the Watchtower. Or perhaps the end of Eruption.

Get you an Albert King record and you can listen to that note over and over and over again!
