USA Sales Figures for Rock Music

DLR is listed below for YTD sales of his latest disc Diamond Dave.

Rock music overall is suffering. Just goes to show you how much media and promotion has a lot to do with melting the minds of people. A record company in conjunction with TV can create an entirely new brand of music, sell it, market it, and most every sheep in America will listen and buy it.

In the US, all official sales figures are tallied by a company called Nielsen Soundscan. The figures gathered by Sounscan come from reporting stores across the USA and are deemed reliable enough for Billboard to use as their official supplier for data for their charts, including the USA Top 200 Albums.

Before you read the figures - a few words of explanation. These figures are USA only, not worldwide numbers. Many titles are also available via different labels in Europe, those sales numbers are unknown.

A few side notes are placed next to some of the titles - please also take those notes into consideration.

That darn market distortion means rock will suck, then DIE

You can't get romantic on a subway line.
Gonna get a BIGGER BANG, for wasting your time,
    But everybody WANTS SOME,
fuck YOU if you don't PAY, first.

The MARKET is distorted by all the fakers, in all culture and administration, so nothing is really what it seems by its corporate label.

YOU are not programmed to receive, and Randy is just being a decoy, in pre. So how will rock survive, in the coming funds implosion?

Well, the commercial fakers are getting more like smart monkeys, with typewriters. They get closer to rock, on TV, all the time.

Too bad after thirty seconds, most of them trip up. want ROCK, don't pay a dirtbag like Gene Simmons to bugger up Harry Potter class, but so they did! Lemmiwinks, the Gerbil King, learn to sing. PPffffft!!

Exactly, and something tells me that this Nielsen Soundscan crap may wind up like payola. Cause you know them big fuckin record companies are paying them off to bump up the numbers, while all these new hard rock and metal acts get fucked! And if that's the case then why the hell does rock always sell out arenas most of these pop and hip-hop artist can't sell worth a shit? Case in point: The SARS concert in Toronto, you figure after Justin Timberlake claimed to sell millions of albums that most of the audience wanted to see him? FUCK NO!!!! He got garbage thrown at him and deserved it, while everybody else was actually in line to see Rush, AC/DC and the Rolling Stones. The bottom line is that it's all gonna blow over someday and these talentless fucks will be working at McDonalds.
