The NO. Saints will play 4 home games in Baton Rouge and 3 in San Antonio

The News article is from NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/NO/8837856

"The New Orleans Saints will return to Louisiana in late October to play four of their last five regular-season home games at Louisiana State University's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue and Saints Owner Tom Benson announced.

The announcement was made in Baton Rouge following a meeting there with LSU Chancellor Sean O'Keefe, LSU Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Bernard Boudreaux, and other school officials. Commissioner Tagliabue and Tom Benson also consulted with Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, who was represented at the meeting by Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District Chairman Tim Coulon.

The specific weekend day and kickoff times of the Saints' remaining home games were not determined today. However, the Saints will return to Louisiana for the first time in Week 8 (Oct. 30-31) against the Miami Dolphins. They also will play at LSU's Tiger Stadium in Week 9 (Nov. 6-7) against the Chicago Bears, Week 13 (Dec. 4-5) against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Week 15 (Dec. 17-19) against the Carolina Panthers.

The Saints' other three home games will be played at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, starting in Week 4 (October 2-3) against the Buffalo Bills. The Saints also will play in San Antonio in Week 6 (October 16-17) against the Atlanta Falcons and Week 16 (December 24-26) against the Detroit Lions.

No decision was made today on the site of potential Saints home playoff games this season.

"We had an excellent meeting this morning and quickly developed a dual consensus," Commissioner Tagliabue said. "The first was to continue to give priority to the needs of the region and the second to the scheduling of Saints games in a way that made sense under the total circumstances. Our deep thanks go to Governor Blanco, Chancellor O'Keefe, and Chairman Boudreaux for their support and guidance. We also appreciate the cooperation of the Alamodome officials and the hospitality of the people of San Antonio for their support of the Saints at this difficult time."

    Saints 2005 home schedule:

Week 2 -- New York Giants (East Rutherford, New Jersey)
Week 4 -- Buffalo (San Antonio, Texas)
Week 6 -- Atlanta (San Antonio, Texas)
Week 8 -- Miami (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)
Week 9 -- Chicago (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)
Week 13 -- Tampa Bay (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)
Week 15 -- Carolina (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)
Week 16 -- Detroit (San Antonio, Texas)"

playing games in SA is like doing a market test...as in, will they support a team? i bet San Antonio gets a team before Los Angeles does.

well, when Red own the Vikings, there wore talk up here about him trying to move the team to SA, but I heard the NFL wouldn't let an NFL team in San Antonio, since it's too close to Houston and Dallas, but who knows, I think Los Angeles will get the expansion team in a few years.

Here is a interesting ted bit to think about, the NO Saints owner was talking about relocating the team to La or San Antonio, if nothing was done about building a new Stadium in NO.

I don't know how will the tickets sales in Baton Rouge or San Antonio, the folks better off might buy the tickets and go see the game. I think folks in NO are not even thinking about football right now, nor can afford to buy tickets for the games, since lots of them don't even have food or water.

San Antonio sales might be alright, but it won't be like selling and getting hype up for the home team to play!

I know before we got hockey back in MN, the NHL use to come up here to play a few pre season games. I was like um ok, I really want to watch another city play another city.

San Antonio Saints Has A Nice ring to it, Plus that stadium was built for a football team to come in and play there, But They never got one sot they used it for Basketball, Thats where I though they should always move the Saints.
Still waiting for a relevant Browns Team

Yes, it is unfair the Giants get an extra home game, since the other teams get 8 home and 8 road games.

Why don't they move the Saints vs Giants game to Baton Rouge?, where the saints should be playing all their home games.

I realize it is really a logistical issue but why not a neutral NFL site without a home game this weekend that is within a few hours of New Orleans? Atlanta, Jacksonville, Dallas (if New York and N.O. played Sunday instead of Monday), Kansas City, and Miami are probably the closest to N.O.

I finally got tickets to a Giants game in Giants stadium, even though it's a road game. I'm very surprised by how many tickets are available for this game. The Giants have sold out every game for decades and their season ticket list barely moves every year
