Hagar, Van Halen on the road again

After months of speculation, Van Halen are hitting the road for the first time in six years with a familiar face back in the lineup -- Sammy Hagar. Hagar, who split with the group in 1996, is back in the fold after he and the other members of Van Halen met last November and put aside their differences.

Since then, the reunited quartet have recorded several songs which will appear on a forthcoming best-of album, sources told Livedaily.com.

The band hasn't toured since 1998 when they hit the road behind Van Halen III with former Extreme vocalist Gary Cherone. The Cherone experiment ended up being a commercial failure and he left the band shortly after work began on a followup release in 1999.

The upcoming summer tour will kick off in Hershey, PA, on June 13. There is no word on Canadian dates, but more shows are expected to be added shortly.

Reminds me of that dark day in '96 when I opened the paper to see the "Eddie did it" letter from Dave.

Man, that was a bad fookin' day. Like having the prom queen tell you she's not going with you to the dance the morning of. Felt like I was kicked right in the ball bag that morning...

I think the day Dave announced he left VH was worse back in 85, I read it in the newspaper and couldnt believe it, I even called the local radio station to confirm it was true, I remember everything about that day, what I was doing, ect....Man, I was pissed.....

Oh, Forgot not only is Sammy fat, but Alex will be wearing his neck brace and Eddie will be looking like a skeleton (a skinny old man).

Eddie could use some time with Spammy. He could put some weight on those bones for Eddie.
