"N--- yeah."
Toronto hosts the Sens tonite, its gonna be a war......
If the Devils can beat the Isles this afternoon they'll be 2 points behind The Flyers with 3 games remaining for each team. A few weeks ago it seemed that there was no way that the Devs could catch them.

DENVER -- Wearing a brace from his chin to his chest, Steve Moore walked into a news conference Monday and said he doesn't remember the hit that knocked him out for the season -- and might have ended his NHL career.
When the announcer said Steve Moore was at Monday's game, Moore got a standing ovation.
The Colorado Avalanche forward still has a red welt under his right eye, but he wore a broad smile while speaking to the media for the first time since Vancouver's Todd Bertuzzi sucker-punched him during a game on March 8.
"I feel very fortunate to be able to be here today, to be able to walk in here today," 25-year-old Moore said before Colorado's game against Los Angeles. "I don't know whether I'll be able to play again, but I remain optimistic. I'm more fortunate just to be alive and to take one day at a time."
Moore waved to the crowd from one of the luxury boxes in the first period after he was welcomed back by the public-address announcer. The fans gave him a standing ovation that lasted more than a minute, and players from both teams tapped their sticks on the ice.
Moore suffered two broken vertebrae, a concussion and facial lacerations when Bertuzzi punched him from behind and drove his head into the ice. The hit was believed to be retaliation for a check by Moore in February that knocked Canucks' star Markus Naslund out for three games.
Bertuzzi was suspended for the rest of the season and the playoffs, and Vancouver police are looking into assault charges against him. He also must apply to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman for reinstatement before he can play again.
Moore said he has not spoken to Bertuzzi and hasn't heard his public apology, and he avoided questions about Bertuzzi's punishment but did say the hit was over the line.
"I think that type of stuff doesn't have any place in the game," he said. "We have a tremendous game, this game of hockey, and I think this incident has made the image of this game suffer. That's unfortunate, and I sincerely hope nothing like this ever happens again."
Canucks general manager Brian Burke was glad to see Moore up and walking around.
"On behalf of the entire Canucks organization, I'd like to wish Steve a quick and full recovery," Burke said in a statement. "I was pleased to see him looking better today, and we hope to hear good things about his status in the near future."
Burke said the organization wouldn't comment on the incident again until after the season.
Moore doesn't recall being punched or remember the 20 minutes before or after he was struck -- his first memory was lying in the medical room in Vancouver's arena.
"I can't explain how scary it is to wake up to a nightmare," he said. "I'm playing a game, and the next thing I know I'm lying in a room with medical personnel standing over me. I have a neck brace on and having my equipment cut off of me, and I am strapped down and really have no idea on what was going on. It was pretty scary."
Moore is up and walking after leaving a Denver hospital last week, but he still has limited mobility and has yet to start rehabilitation. He hopes to join the Avalanche on the road during the playoffs but doesn't want to push too hard.
"Since that game in Vancouver, my main concern has just been to regain my full health and take one day at a time," Moore said. "I am certainly anxious for my injuries to heal, and I'm anxious to get going on the rehab and hopefully get back to playing."
Moore said that his apartment is filled with banners, cards and pictures and that he has received good wishes from across North America and places as far away as Germany and Australia.
"I've even received a bouquet of flowers from Kuwait," he said. "So it's been pretty amazing and it's been very uplifting for me. It's been pretty powerful to know that this many people care."
Great to see him doing better, hopefully he will be able to play again one day....

...... I'd like to win the division and get a higher seed and home ice. But, why do I think that you already knew that? :pOriginally posted by Full Bug
And this is good because......
Actually, not including last year the Devils are very strong on the road in the playoffs. In '95 and '00 they won 10 games on the road.
First place Devils heading into the last day of the season.
And WOO-HOO, the Pens clinched last place !!!
48.2 pct. chance of getting Ovechkin !!!!
But alas, knowing our luck, we still won't get the #1 pick...
Even if we don't, we can't select lower than #2, which would let the Pens select Malkin, who ain't chopped liver either.... As a matter of fact, I've read some reports that Malkin has improved so much that he's not far away from Ovechkin in terms of overall talent....
But if get Ovechkin, with Fleury in goal, things are looking up...

EASTERN CONFERENCE
(1) LIGHTNING vs ISLANDERS (8)
(2) BRUINS vs CANADIENS (7)
(3) FLYERS vs DEVILS (6)
(4) MAPLE LEAFS vs SENATORS (5)
WESTERN CONFERENCE
(1) RED WINGS vs PREDATORS (7)
(2) SHARKS vs BLUES (7)
(3) CANUCKS vs CALGARY (6)
(4) AVALANCHE vs DALLAS (5)
Hmmm...
Lightning/Islanders - If the Isles can get some goaltending, they could surprise TB.... If not, this could be a sweep... TB in this one...
Bruins/Habs - Despite the historical significance and their rivalry, IMO this could be a yawner of a series, or put it this way, the least exciting matchup out of the 4 series in the East..... Bruins in this one....
Philly/NJ, of course, will be a slugfest.... I'll take a healthier Philly in that one...
Leafs/Senators will be pretty rough as well... Leafs for this one....
Western Conference - Don't much care until the finals, although I'd love to see Nashville knock off the Wings...

Now how did I know that either a Bostonian or a Montrealian was going to rag me about that ???
OK, to make you happy, I'll give the bar fighting championship to the Habs fans...
But, on the ice, just my opinion, this won't be as good of a series as the others in the East....
And I hope the Habs win as well.....

Capitals win NHL draft lottery
TSN.ca Staff
4/6/2004
The Washington Capitals won the NHL draft lottery on Tuesday, giving them the right to select first overall in the June 26 Entry Draft.
Washington, who had a 14.2 percent of winning the lottery, would have picked third due to their regular-season finish.
Under the lottery system, only the five teams with the fewest points had the chance to win the first overall selection; no team could move up more than four spots and no team could move backward more than one.
The Pittsburgh Penguins, who had a 25 percent chance of winnign the lottery, will draft second despite finishing with the worst record in the NHL this season.
The team that has finished last in the NHL standings hasn't won the draft lottery since 1997 when the Boston Bruins retained the top pick and selected franchise cornerstone Joe Thornton.
The Chicago Blackhawks will draft third overall followed by the Columbus Blue Jackets, Phoenix Coyotes and New York Rangers.
The last time the Washington Capitals selected first overall in the NHL draft, they took defenseman Rick Green in 1976.

Oh well, we move on...
I've been reading several reports on Malkin, and I have to admit, this guy looks to be someone who is just what the Pens are looking for...
6'3" Center, 200lbs... Fast as shit with an excellent shot and a great passer....
Well, the draft is in Raleigh this year....
Pojo, get the beer ready....
Of course you'll think now I'm complaining, but there's something fundamentally wrong when the last place team hasn't gotten the #1 pick in 7 straight years....Originally posted by lucky wilbury

EASTERN CONFERENCE
(1) LIGHTNING vs ISLANDERS (8)
Another early exit for the Islanders. Lighting just has too much more scoring. Lightning in 5.
(2) BRUINS vs CANADIENS (7)
Another very exiting ORIGINAL SIX-matchup. Bruins goaltending is a question mark, can Raycroft handle the pressure? Well, in the end their power-play will be too much for the HABS. Bruins in 6.
(3) FLYERS vs DEVILS (6)
Brodeur is clearly the best goaltender in the league. Esche of the Flyers has been shaky lately. Will the Flyers power-play succeed? Unless Esche stands on his head and beats Brodeur, I'll say Devils in 7.
(4) MAPLE LEAFS vs SENATORS (5)
Two teams that have been close to the Finals for several years now. Maple Leafs are the modern Broad Street Bullies. Leetch could make the difference here. Belfour is still better than Lalime. I'll say Leafs in 6.
WESTERN CONFERENCE
(1) RED WINGS vs PREDATORS (7)
The Predators did very well to get this far, but they can't match the depth of the Red Wings. Wings starting goaltender isn't a sure bet though. I'll say Red Wings in 5.
(2) SHARKS vs BLUES (7)
Sharks have done very well with their rebuilding project - they've turned from a good veteran team into a competitive, young team in less than two years. The Blues have material and a Cup-proven goaltender but I'm still not counting on them. Sharks in 6.
(3) CANUCKS vs CALGARY (6)
It is great to see a Finnish goaltender to lead it's team back into the playoffs. Darryl Sutter has made some great bargain trades. They have some injured centers though, and some young, playoffs-unproven defenders. The Canucks have way more depth but I still don't trust Dan Cloutier. Flames in 7.
(4) AVALANCHE vs DALLAS (5)
I don't like Tony Granato. He is shuffling his lines too much and the Avs are not playing on the level they could. Dallas have had their problems too but they've picked up their play when the season got older. Modano had a bad season but the playoffs count. Unless Aebischer can really prove himself and Selanne finds his scoring touch again, I see Stars advance in 7.
