    Who's Eddie Van Halen?
Eddie Van Heiniken is one quarter member of the group Sham and the Chirellas. He is a lying, two-faced prick who spends most of his time in 5150 bent over so that his bitch brother Alex can lick his asshole clean.
"I decided to name my new band DLR because when you say David Lee Roth people think of an individual, but when you say DLR you think of a band. Its just like when you say Edward Van Halen, people think of an individual, but when you say Van Halen, you think of…David Lee Roth, baby!"!

The solo in Sinner's Swing! is a fucking jaw-dropper.
"What we've been doing, which is great and certainly cost saving, is I train in the sand pit in McDonald's. I do a few laps. I go through the tunnel a few times. The kids don't mind if I smoke. Plus, when I'm done, lunch is right there."- DLR 2003

No fucking doubt! The whole band is cooking full-blast on that one. Sounds like Ed winged the solo, yet you listen to the 1981 boots and there he is whipping it off like it was nothing.

Remember digging that solo when 1984 first came out, and being bummed when I saw 'em live on that tour and Ed ended up subbing a synth solo for the guitar solo. Can understand why he did it, in terms of the quick switch from keyboards to guitar and back to keyboards, but was kinda let down just the same...although he was able to do it for I'll Wait, and I couldn't give two shits about that solo (which sounded even worse live than the throwaway piece of fluff it was on record).

Yeah, I love it too, even though it's one where the spliced-together approach is plainly obvious.

Man, that suprises me. Although it shouldn't- I know a lot of fuckers around here (and DDLR.com for that matter) absolutely hate it, however I've always dug that solo.

Very tasty, squeezing blues licks, bit of Gibbons and Clapton, mixing some Holdsworth legato phrases in, as well as some nice melodic playing- it's fucking great.

To me it's one of the very few moments where you can actually hear the Clapton influence in Eddie's playing.
