Upcoming Judas Priest Live DVD "Rising In The East"

According to Amazon.com and several other online retailers, JUDAS PRIEST will be releasing their new live DVD, "Rising in the East", in the U.S. on November 8 via Rhino/WEA. PRIEST filmed and recorded their May 18-19, 2005 shows at the Budokan in Tokyo, Japan for the full-length concert DVD. The band used three cameras and two large screens during the sold-out shows, which were attended by a total of 20,000 people. The group's setlist for the concert is as follows:

    01. The Hellion
    02. Electric Eye
    03. Metal Gods
    04. Riding On The Wind
    05. The Ripper
    06. A Touch Of Evil
    07. Judas Rising
    08. Revolution
    09. Hot Rockin'
    10. Breaking The Law
    11. I'm A Rocker
    12. Diamonds And Rust
    13. Worth Fighting For
    14. Deal With The Devil
    15. Beyond The Realms Of Death
    16. Turbo Lover
    17. Hellrider
    18. Victim Of Changes
    19. Exciter
    20. Painkiller
    Encore:
    21. Hell Bent For Leather
    22. Living After Midnight
    23. You've Got Another Thing Comin'

n a June 2005 interview with the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline", JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford confirmed the group's plans to release one or more live DVDs documenting PRIEST's "Angel of Retribution" tour. Halford said, "We had a wonderful moment recently where we played our hometown in Birmingham, in the Midlands, and we played at the NEC, which is like a big top-notch rock venue, and there were 10,000 metal maniacs there, and we actually filmed that show. We also filmed a show at a famous venue in Sweden called the Globe, and then more recently we filmed two nights at the Budokan in Tokyo . . so we're stock-piling all of this stuff, and eventually, when we get a little break, we'll make sense of it all, and we'll start feeding it out there. So you may get PRIEST at home in Birmingham, you might get PRIEST 'Re-Unleashed in the East' [original working title] in Japan, which is a nice idea, because as you know, that is one of our famous releases $B!=(B 'Unleashed in the East'. We thought about this, because it was kind of an anniversary trip back to Japan, so we actually DVDed and we ProTooled recorded the whole show. So we're just amassing everything as we go along $B!=(B we'll probably do the same here in America $B!=(B and then we'll bring out little pieces, either a worldwide piece or a piece from one country, whatever, we're gonna mix it up and just keep all the stuff going for the PRIEST fans out there that can't get enough of this."

        How about the CD version?

        Anywhere listing that yet?

From what I remember both were originally due on 29th August (the same day as Iron Maiden`s "Death on the road").

Priest even deleted it from their own message board.

It is obvious. As great as Priest are, they are no match for Iron Maiden.

Um...the whole "Bueno Bob" thing is a LONG story...basically, it revolves around a night I was working audit at a hotel years back and an orgy that took place in our swimming pool.

I'll work it up and put it in the Pen in a few days.

                Should be interesting.

Maybe it would not be "as true" back in the early 80s (especially when Halford still had a voice), but these days there is no question.

                      Maiden rules.

Halford still has a voice-hes actually been quite lucky for a 55 year old. Plus, Angel of Retribution was much better than Dance of Death.

He has "a" voice, but he cannot wail like he did in the mid-80s.

I have enough bootlegs from the past 6 years that I no longer want to own any boots of Priest, as I have a ton of boots from the 80s when he still had "THE" Voice.

The last time I saw him where he had The Voice was when Fight opened for Anthrax in Tulsa, OK in 1995.

I saw him in 2wo in 1998 when he did not do any wailing whatsoever, and then I saw him opening for Queensryche & Iron Maiden in August of 2000 when he sounded like he was gargling a wounded cat being fed into a meat grinder with a bunch of sand and broken glass.

                          He sounded like SHIT!

                          It completely horrified me.

I have several other boots from that tour, and his voice was shot.

Last year on Ozzfest, it was much improved, but he still cannot sing like he did back in the day.

Compare Unloeashed In The East to anything he has done live in the past 10 years and you will see what I mean.

I hate to have to admit all this, as he is my favorite vocalist. I will still say though that even on a bad day, he is better than 90% of all other rock/metal vocalists on Earth.

Who can sing like Halford used to in the 80s?
