Question Didn't Sammy onice say, He would never do a greatest hits album?

I don't remember if this was true or not, but didn't Spammy say in 96 he would never do a greatest hits album?

Wasn't this one of the reasons in 96, when he walked out of VH, because they wore going to release the BOV1?

Spammy is back in VH, they about to release BOV2, and go on tour to promote the album.

    Indeed he did.

The fact he had brought out a few solo best of albums seemed to slip his mind at that point.

I know one of the greatest album he had to do, because of a contract he had to honor, but why the change of heart about the BOV2

He is as big of a lier as Eddie and VH, I'm starting to think Spammy and VH deserve each other.

Grandpa McSammy needs the cash as does Alex and Mike.

Of course he said that... in between delicious doughnuts.

    Lies.

Sam: "Eddie, I don't want to do no Dave stuff. I gotta touch your star."

Eddie: "Your gonna sing Panama, FATBOY! Or no stupid speech before Right Now"

To me, there's nothin more pathetic than a guy who's born to play the side kick try to be the hero. Whats Fat Sam - 100? And he's still tryin to play the hero? Sad. He just wants to be the hero sooooo fucking bad.

Fat Sam is like Lou eating twinkies on the sidelines. Dave is like John smokin cigarettes and lookin cool. Yippie Kay Aye Mother Fucker!

Sammy once said he wouldn't do a greatest hits album which is why he left VH even though it's kind of hypocritical(like most rock stars) of him to begin with, since he had already done a greatest hits compilation before hand which is why him quitting or was fired n the first place is completely riduculous, but this reunion tour is all abou the return of Eddie after a long absence from the spotlight & for the money realistically speaking unless you're an idiot!!!

Sammy also said late last year that he wouldnt be involved with a Van Halen reunion unless Dave and Sam were in. After all, it was the only fair thing for the fans.

I think if you believe what Sammy says you should have your brain uploaded by Aliens...

Yep but I think those were record company decisions, because he owed them solo records.

In any case, yes he was against the VH one. I'm sure they're doing this one (if they do) because they're touring and they want to get something new out there quickly, might as well just do a few songs and another Best Of. Not particularly exciting news.

I read that WB owns everything concerning =VH= even the band name...but it would not have make any sense to put out a BOII album without someting "new" on it...but for WB it was dave or sam (second choice) after the cherone debacle...so they had to wait and ed HAS to do the BO anyway...

Dude WB ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT owns the right to the band name. In fact, Van Halen, when they were signed back in 1977 were smart enough to get the rights to EVERYTHING! DLR was a very smart businessman, he made sure they didn't give up their rights to shit.

I want to see where you read that, because that is a total and complete lie.

WB owns the publishing rights to the back catalog, that is it. So if Van Halen wanted to release "Unchained" on another record label, they'd have to re-record it, or get permission from WB to use the original version.

but DLR left in 1985 and some contracts were changed...dave sued them for that...so it is possible that they even sold their name with their souls...

I read this somewhere around here, maybe it belongs to the rumor section but I can imagine it...

I am telling you, no way they don't own the rights to the band name. I know for a fact they do. Believe me, when Dave left, VH didn't give up their rights to the band name bro.

I don't recall Dave suing them for anything in 1985? He sued them for royalties a few years ago, after VH apparently re-negotiated their contract in the 90's and were getting a bigger cut of the old songs' royalties, and Dave said he never saw his share of that money. But he dropped the suit, they obviously settled.

    WRONG

If Fearless Leader dropped a suit against the brothers, it doesn't mean you can assume it was settled.

    WRONG Assumption.

Really? What's the right assumption? That Dave just decided, "No big deal, I don't need the money I was owed?"
