"You got the silver" from Let it Bleed is a fine choice. They played it in Paris in 2003, it was great, though Keith's voice was really shot, his aura did all the job.
I remember a version of Sympathy where he messed the lead guitar about one year ago... Has he gotten better?

It's nice to read they sound better than some 15 years ago.

"Monkey Man" in the set is great too. Just too bad they never played it in the late 60s, early 70s.

Mick Jagged is definitely an incredible person.

The one above is from 2003. This one was done recently, sounds better, doesn't it?

Saw the Stones Wednesday night. They did great! One thing I didn’t know was Mick is quite the guitar player. It was in a big NFL football stadium but it really did seem like a blues club at times. The sound engineers did a great job.

Early take of Ruby Tuesday here. I've never heard this before now, so it's possibly one of those songs that was briefly "leaked" to YouTube by Klein's greedy brats on New Years, and somebody managed to grab it before it was deleted....

No Filter US Tour 2020 announcement rumored for Feb 6.

Be on the lookout for tongue billboards.

Another rumor says tour starts in San Diego, with later stops in Louisville and...Cleveland!

How will Keith sound without fags singing Happy? Not worse than he did over the past 40 years anyway...

That question has a different meaning here but I doubt his voice has gotten any better.

The only thing that would make Keef sing better would probably kill him, especially at his age. And that would be to go back on heroin. Because his voice started changing the minute he quit. Compare his voice on "Before They Make Me Run" which was recorded fresh out of the detox clinic, to "Little T&A" which was recorded a couple of years later. Or for that matter, compare the demo version of Little T&A which I posted a few pages back in this thread.

Obviously that's not a sound medical strategy, especially for a guy who is getting rid of his remaining bad habits. So his voice probably ain't going to revert to what it was pre-1979. Maybe if he lived to be 120 and was still making records he might replace enough cells in his vocal cords by then?

Saw the Seattle Stones show. Lucky I could fit the rescheduled show into my schedule. You can tell those guys still love it but Keith was showing his age. He played well but he moves around like an old man. Mick on the other hand is very impressive for how old he is. Charlie Watts still drums great. The Stones are still worth seeing.

Well.. when your entire band is in the "high risk" category, I guess that was inevitable.

Took longer than I thought it would.

I haven't bought tickets yet and had to take vacation days for the Cleveland show. I can throw those back and save a couple days for later in the summer.

Early mix of Gimme Shelter here. Different lead vocal from Mick. Louder bass than the official mix, sounds great on the intro. No Merry Clayton, unfortunately....

Maybe the Stones should get in on the "living room concerts" trend, and call it the "Ventilator Blues Tour"??

Here's one I never heard before tonight...... Got a 12" single of this song with 2 different mixes and neither version sounded like this, so this must be the original track or something.... another Bob Clearmountain butcher job before it got to the album, probably.....

I think I've heard one of those on Sirius before.

Local classic rock station used to play the 8 track version of Miss You.

When Grandpas Play With Technology..... Stones @ Home 4/18/20

They need to fire their tech who set this up... Keef seems a little out of sync with the rest of 'em... and he's sober these days!

Sounds like a Voodoo Lounge track. It's not though, because I've heard about 10 albums worth of bootlegs from those sessions, and this wasn't in it.

I'm guessing the track was mostly complete, and Mick might have added the vocals & lyrics recently from his home studio, since they seem to be "on topic" for the current clusterfuck.

Rolling Stones Radio returns to Sirius XM - Channel 717

One of the few silver linings of the COVID 19 cloud has been Sirius XM streaming for free - because most of the other internet radio services are loaded with ads & playlists that are just as repetitious as corporate terrestrial radio. Now Sirius XM has improved this even more with the return of Rolling Stones Radio. Playing everything from 1963 up to the new single "Living In A Ghosttown", including live stuff, solo material, etc.

They also added a David Bowie channel which is also pretty damned cool. Add that into the rotation along with the Grateful Dead channel & Marky Ramone's Punk Blitzkrieg (or whatever the name is)

Had the Bowie channel on for a couple hours last night. Good stuff.

Keef should find his pocket knife and take a trip to Moron-a-Lago.
