Side 2 I grew to appreciate more as the years passed. Tops is still a bit weaker than the rest of the side to my ears.

Side 1 has tracks I tended to listen to less as the years passed. Black Limousine far as the backing track goes is too pedestrian, Stones-wise. Neighbours tends to grate on me these days.

Tops was much better with the original vocal... though completely unsuitable for commercial release.

To be fair, her ex probably really did have bad teeth. Maybe he thought the green moss looked cool like Johnny Rotten did (and later regretted it)...

Watched the Q&A, Fallon was awful. The Sidney Sweeney part at the end was the worst.

So they did 23 new songs (Ronnie mentioned TWO albums). Now, they always record more songs than they use...but Ronnie did say two albums at one point. So many this isn't necessarily the Stones' last LP.

Charlie is on two songs on this LP (recorded in 2019) and Bill Wyman plays on one of the new songs with Charlie.

The part I saw didn't mention McCartney, but I could have just missed that.

She got so high listening to Side 2 of TATTOO YOU one night that she permanently forgot that they didn't write songs like IT'S ALL OVER NOW and they aren't from Chicago.

I truly love GOAT'S HEAD SOUP. But it's amazing how much good material (even early versions) they cut during that time.

A lot of people rag on that album...but I think it's a good 1970s rock album and they were trying new things.

Goats Head Soup and Emotional Rescue suffered from the same thing... the albums that came before them were so flawless that anything that came after was going to look somehwat "disappointing" by comparison. You could say the same thing about Bridges to Babylon, as the followup to Voodoo Lounge, for that matter. Even though there was about 10 albums worth of "leftovers" from Voodoo Lounge.... albeit most of them never really finished...



The one good thing about the Stones taking 18 years between albums this time around, is that nobody's going to think the new record is just leftovers from A Bigger Bang
