I just use my Sovtek MIG 50 which is basically a Fender Bassman copy which was originally a bass amp. MIG 50's are inexpensive tube amps and sound great with either guitars or basses. Buy one amp and use it for both. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

I personally am a crate guy, my dad bought the amp in the 80s and its held up pretty well since. It's a fairly good sized amp though I don't know about smaller ones. Now if we were talking about the actual bass guitars I could be of more assistance. Yes even though im 15 I like to boost my self esteem.Comment

Do you have an amp of any kind now? If so, I agree with manwiththedogs. Save up for the Ampeg. I love my SVT. You would too. A million bass players can't be wrong. He throws a punch.

Hey manwiththedogs, love the hooters pic. Did you ever notice that women who protest sex, sexuality, sex appeal, etc are almost always dogs? That shit is so transparent. He throws a punch.

I've had a few MARK IV PEAVEYS in the past. I believe I gave about $100 or $150 for each of them. I used to run them straight into the board, via direct box. A pedal to switch back and forth between my "alligator sound" and my "hippo sound" was handy since they give you separate channels with both a parametric EQ, and a graphic EQ. They were kinda big, but since they were solid state, not too heavy. Good call ELVIS.He throws a punch.

Avatar cabs are excellent...in fact I'm going to buy one soon for my Plexi project. That dude will hook you up, plus he's got those Hellatone speakers, which are Celestions that he breaks in for you.Comment
