Triumph's "Rock 'n Roll Machine" solo

Is 2 finger tapping all that considering Rik Emmett was able to do the solo without using that technique? Heck, I could've sworn the two artists were the same when hearing the solo for the first time!

Did Rik have a special technique of his own?

In Triumph's early days Rik was a major Jimmy Page fan. Go figure Rik's R&R Machine solo and Page's "Heartbreaker"solos are in G !
There is no tapping in either solos. only pull-offs.....
Had both solos nailed when I was 15. Fun stuff !

Thanks for the Holdsworth link Steve. He's the most under appreciated and scarriest guitarist on the face of the Earth !

Two handed tapping is the easy part of Ed's playing...it's all the other shit that is difficult.

EVH's phrasing is amazing. In tabliture , some of his licks look very
traditional blues/Clapton-ish. But it's the way he blazes through them
is what makes them unmistakably him.

                    I've never heard the solo.

Have you a file of him playing it?

I'll tell ya if it's a bugger to do or not if you want.

No I've never heard the solo.
I was asking you to post a link to it so I could check it out, then tell you if it's hard to do.
I was curious to hear it.
                          I can't find it online.
