Well...where to start...
how about with Indy...
Edge running up a storm...
Defense looking like a Dungy D...
and Manning being more patient...and still able to strike like a Cobra...
now the only question is...will they go undefeated?

MVP?
Many will look at Edge or Manning...
Many will look to Palmer (who's having a great year)...
then...of course...there's LT...and Alexander...
but look no farther than Carolina for the REAL MVP...
My pick? Steve Smith WR Carolina Panthers...
look at the record last year during the first half...1-7?
This year...Carolina is making a run at the Super Bowl...and Smith is leading the way with 903 yards...and 9 TD's...leading all receivers by 2...
Smith is the real deal...and is putting together one of those seasons that make you go hmmmm...
Rookie of the Year?
Kyle Orton
Yeah...he makes mistakes...but as a rookie...he seems to have the Roethlisberger feel...a guy that knows how to win...
his numbers aren't the greatest...but he has the look of a big game QB...
Coach of the Year?
Many are pointing to Dungy...I say you can't lose with Manning, Edge and crew...
Many are pointing to Lewis...and I say...you have to point to Palmer and Co...as well as Lewis...
I point to Tom Coughlin in New York...similar to the Bengals...but most predicted the Bengals move this year...NOBODY PREDICTED THE GIANTS...
He's done a tremendous job...
AFC Playoff Predictors:
AFC South: Indianapolis (16-0)--I think they'll lose 1 game...on primetime...but they'll win the division with five weeks to spare...
AFC North: Pittsburgh (12-4)--Pittsburgh will win the division with their 2 victories over the Bengals.
AFC West: Denver (11-5)--Denver loses back to back at Dallas and Kansas City...and their last game of the year...at San Diego...
AFC East: New England (9-7)--there's just noone else in this division...and NE will limp in.
Wildcard winners: Cincinnati (11-5), Kansas City (10-6)
Wild Card Playoffs: Denver over Kansas City, New England over Cincinnati
Division Playoffs: Indianapolis over New England (although...this could be an upset), Pittsburgh over Denver
I'm going to stop there...for now...
Indy vs. Pittsburgh...in Indy...I have brain thoughts that say Indy in this one...but...it feels like a Steeler year...and I rarely feel that way...including last year...so screw it...
AFC Championship Game: Pittsburgh 24, Indy 23
AFC Champion...Pittsburgh...
NFC Playoff Predictions:
NFC South: Carolina (12-4)
NFC East: NY Giants (11-5)
NFC West: Seattle (11-5)
NFC North: Chicago (9-7)
Wildcard: Atlanta (11-5), Dallas (10-6)
Wildcard Playoffs: Dallas over Seattle, Atlanta over Chicago
Divisional Playoffs: Carolina over Dallas, Atlanta over NY
NFC Championship Game: Carolina 21, Atlanta 17
NFC Champions: Carolina Panthers
Super Bowl
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Carolina Panthers
Pittsburgh 27, Carolina 21
I could just as easily see Indy vs. Carolina as well...
either game would be a good one...
Well in the AFC I don't see KC getting in as a wild-card, I pick San Diego. Indy won't go undefeated, I agree the whole thing will come down to Indy and Pittsburgh. If the Steelers are healthy, (Bettis, Roth-man), I'm gonna take them.
NFC, I don't know except Dallas has a brutal 2nd half schedule, it will be tough for them to get in as a wild card. Who can beat Carolina? Who knows, maybe the Giants.
Pitt or Indy over whoever the NFC throws up.

San Diego...a game behind KC...and FARTY Fagenheimer...who is...bar none...the worst game play caller I've ever seen...
won't hold a candle to KC...
San Diego loses to many games they should win...
and...
KC becomes a better team with Priest gone...believe it or not...now the O flows through probably a faster and tougher Larry Johnson right now...
I agree with Dallas' schedule...but really...really see them coming through it...not sure why...
I think the thing most people forget about with Carolina...is their D...which is really gearing it up....
if Carolina's D stays healthy...and continues to develop...in particular...in the secondary...they could be a hard team to beat...
I can really see the Giants causing teams problems...but playoff inexperience on offense will kill them...
I know, I know. But I think San Diego will get in in spite of Marty S. Great offense and a D that is playing alot better as the season goes on, well the front 7 any way.Originally posted by POJO_Risin

Don't agree about KC. Weak D and they will miss Priest in the red zone. Depends on if Johnson can stay out of jail I guess.
Their D is weak...no doubt...
but San Diego's is really overrated as the Jets proved last week...
and like I said...Johnson will prove to be the better of the 2 backs...
You just know that Indy is going to nickel and dime the Steelers to death Poj....
I they don't gameplan for that type of a game, it could be ugly.....

Va...I'm telling you...this is a different kind of year...a different kind of team...
Again...don't know why...and don't really care...
just a feeling...a hunch...
they can nickel and dime them all day on Monday Night...it's January I'm worried about...and I just think this is the Steeler's year. Again...not really sure why...
I do believe that the Steelers linebackers and Safties will ultimately catch up to the nickel and diming...
I think Pittsburgh can shut down the edge...and take away the deep ball (christ...haven't felt that way in a long time)...
this will allow their outside backers to blitz a bit (they can get to manning)...and cover those inside passes.
Don't forget Va...Indy isn't half the nickel and dimers that New England is...
if Pittsburgh shuts down the run...and can hold Harrison and Wayne from rollin' deep...
I think Pittsburgh can win it...
Well, of course I'd love it if you're right...
But I don't agree with you about Indy, I think they can nickel and dime ya to death, if that's what the defense is giving them...
I'm not worried about Edge at all, I think his 15 minutes are up...
And I'll be the first one to say it, I hope Indy DOES get home field advantage....
You and me both...
and...lmfao...
I have to disagree with you...
Manning can do nearly anything...but...I watched New England dupe him into trying the nickel and dime horseshit before...
if Indy is doing that...I'll actually be happy...because I think it's the one way you get them to cause turnovers...
Pittsburgh has Troy to stir up the shit in the middle...
and that's just a start...
again Va...don't compare this steeler team to teams in the past...it's not the same team...
Sometimes you just have to look at the team...and realize...they are just better...
I don't think Pittsburgh is better...but...with a 3 HEADED rb and Heath...
I could see Pittsburgh nickel and dime that Indy pass rush to death...
I really could...
and I could see the Steeler D not necesarily stopping Indy...but...forcing a couple of turnovers that give Pittsburgh the win...
That's what Indy did against them on Monday night, nickel and dime !!
The corners are going to be the key position, 'cause if they plan on blitzing the dog fuck out of them, Harrison and Wayne will have single coverage.....
Um...Va...I think we both can admit that NE isn't the same team they used to be...
I wasn't talking about that game...I was talking about the NE teams in the previous 4 years...
With Bruschi just returning...Ted Johnson gone...Ty Law gone...Harrison out...
not the same team...obviously...

Steve Mariucci wins this title hands down.
He makes Marty look like Don Coryell.
But doesn't help the Chief defense.Originally posted by POJO_Risin

Look where they rank against both the run and pass.
Not to mention WIllie Roaf in and out of the line-up with injury.
No way...if Mariucci coached the Chargers...they'd be 7-2...at least...
FARTY's been this shitty since I can recall...
Yeah...I know where they rank...but they have still managed a 5-3 record...
and are just plain better than the underachieving Chargers...
Oh hell no ... Mooch is the most over rated WCO coach in the history of Bill Walsh disciples.Originally posted by POJO_Risin

3rd and whatever the distance, the play is always called for something short of it.
Wasting the talent they've drafted at the skill positions.
The stats of LT, Gates, and Brees alone show Marty has Mooch stomped into the turf.
No way...
the stats of LT, Gates and Brees alone overshadow Mary's shittiness...
and no offense...
but KJones, Pollard and Harrington aren't exactly Brees, LT and Gates...
lmfao...
LT and Gates are the 2 best at their position...
the 2 best...
the Chargers are 5-4...it begins and ends there...
Blame Millen...not Mooch...
Detroit's PERSONEL has proven to be overrated...not their coach...
I just think you are thinking people outside of Detroit think to much of Mariucci...
lmfao...we don't...
we think he sucks...
which makes him coaching to ability...lmfao...
FARTY?

Millen got the extension, and Mooch's job is in the shitter ...
Millen spear headed the draft, and from what I have seen, this is a deeper and faster team.
All the Detroit papers and reporters scream it ... the defense is holding us up, the offense is failing miserably.
The running game, the best in the league after week 8 last season, 2.7 yards per carry. Mike Williams, late for many meetings, out of shape when he reported, no discipline whatsoever. Rogers pissing and moaning and no discipline, drug tests coming back positive, Roy Williams has his toughness being questioned weekly on this quad injury.
The offense was suppose to step up and go down the field, which is why they rought in Tollner. The offense is on Mooch and Mooch only. The every day workings of the locker room in on Mooch.
He is by far worse than I even thought.
Marty bites too, don't get me wrong.
He has had many opportunities in the past and present to get it done and hasn't.
Like I said from the start...
you can hang all you want on Mooch (it's amusing that Millen hasn't had one good season though...and is still there...just shows you what people skills can do for you)...
I just don't think he's OVERrated...I think he's coaching to his ability...lmfao...
that...and the fact that they thought Garcia was a good option...
Hopefully Garcia will sink him ... that was Mooch's call ...
He needs to go ... badly ... Millen or no Millen.
I agree...they address that QB position...and their whole outlook can change...and quickly...
Well, they sure as hell nickel and dimed them AGAIN this time around... It's their Achilles heal, it's obvious to me....Originally posted by POJO_Risin
Um...Va...I think we both can admit that NE isn't the same team they used to be...
You don't think Dungy is going to see that ???
It's obvious to everyone...
Well...
I can say a lot about that game...
Brady was brilliant...
and it's not so much about the Nickel and Diming as it is about a lot of other things...mainly...keeping that offense off the field...
Pittsburgh's achilles heal...if you ask me...is their penchant for 3 and outs as opposed to long drives...they have 2 long drives a game...seemingly surrounded by 3 and out...3 and out...3 and out...
Yeah...I know that Dungy sees how to beat Pittsburgh...
but the Steelers they'll face won't be the same team that New England faced...
Wow...Va's lost the faith...
If Pittsburgh remains healthy...and keeps from turning the ball over against Indy...they can beat them...in their house...
Gotta get Ben back, because they won't beat them anywhere with Batch in there.
You know Batch is better than either Detroit qb right...
...which isn't saying much...
but I do agree...they need to have a healthy Ben back...
but they can still beat just about anyone else with Batch handing the ball off...
It's called reverse psychology.....Originally posted by POJO_Risin
