Mod wanted

I think this forum needs another mod in case something wrong happened to me. eh?

here are some boot mod requirements

1) owning boots(audio & video) from the entire career of Roth evenly.
2) owning a web space to upload them
3) anti-Lou

But keep in mind I do not think much more highly of MP3s than LOU does, and I refuse to convert lossless derived material to lossy, not that that should really matter, there's plenty of MP3 sourced material already out there that we could put up on this site! (Like the US Festival for fuck sake! We should have that one above all else.) This is not because of LOU, but because of the greater bootleg trader community does not like this and I respect that.

MP3's do suck when there are better lossless versions around. Lou isn't wrong when it comes to that.

The VH trading community really improved when a stand was taken against it IMO. So I agree with you Nick.

LOU's always been right about that, I've never really disagreed...

I realized in my brief foray in MP3 downloading that the music is palpably altered when converted to MP3 (I knew this even before the advent of MP3s because of the differences I heard between the VHS Hi Fi version and the CD version of, for example, U2's "Rattle & Hum." The tape is infinitely better sound-wise, and contains many subtle nuances that the CD left out, which sounds empty and muted in comparison. MP3s only intensify the loss of sound and frequency.

But they have their uses, where small files are needed like in an MP3 player, and they're better than nothing, as a stop gap until you can get a better version for people who cannot torrent. There's nothing like reinventing a tired old boot by listening to it in lossless, after you've pitched your old MP3 version.

CDs are much better today if still imperfect, which is why we have (VAN HALEN) 'remasters,' simply re-recorded versions using newer "HD CD" tech. I even made a better "Rattle and Hum" CD using my computer and VCR than the record company did 16 years ago LOL...

But, the problem with LOU is that he alienates and antagonizes people, treating them like children while abusively ramming this stuff down their throats. If he were a Christian missionary, LOU would have converted the world to Islam in no time flat!
