WOW!!! Supercool
That guitar looks so modern doesn't it.
Some of those pics look like THE WHISKEY as well.
Yeah, some are Whiskey shots as well. You can see Eddie took a Strat and dropped in what looks like a Dimarzio super distortion. No stripes on the guitars yet. The white Exploerer is actually an Ibanez Destroyer that Eddie later Van Halenized into the famouse shark guitar that he's wearing on the Women and Children First album cover shots.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!
I've heard bootlegs from the era and Ed is getting a great sound. I've just never seen this many photos of the band in the club days. One of the worlds greatest rock bands when they were hungry, unstoppable, and just ready to break into the mainstream music scene. The good old days before Sammy Hagar fucked it up the ass. Southern California was in it's prime at that time. Fun times for sure. Back when LA was a really fun place instead of a over conjested third world city.
Anyone have a link to whiskeys site? ... Im in hollywood tonight looking for a gig ...

Nate, so cool. I'm listening to the Dallas feed, so it'll be coming up in a while. Can't wait!
I was in 4th grade in 76. Lot's of bicentenial celebrations and I remember a kid showing us the new bicentenial quarter. Skateboarding was huge with new parks opening all over the place. Cool boards with huge wheels and massive trucks. I had a Fiberflex and an aluminum Banzai board. In fact, the modern skateboarding craze of today got it's start in 1976. So did skimpy bikinis and thongs. Who can forget the string bikini coming onto the scene in SoCal?
Great link! What I wish that I was 20 or so back then. There were many great bands playing the strip in those years.
Would have been cool to see VH back then!
Great pictures of VH in the clubs way back in 76 before rock stardom & there's no doubt about it they are one of the LAST great rock & roll bands in rock history.
