Aerosmith is my favorite band along with Classic Van Halen. Aerosmith has rocked for 30 plus years...no wonder they are America's greatest Rock N' Roll band!

Aerosmith is a joke of a band. Some of their stuff in the 70's was ok. But that pop shit they have been shamelessly churning out for two decades written by David Geffin's team of professional songwriters makes me puke. Still - if it makes you happy I guess it has some merit. And they do sell a lot of albums. Then again so does Madonna and Micheal Jackson.

"Rocks" and "Pump" are two of the all time classic rock albums, no doubt.

A lot of their other stuff is A1 also.

I used to be heavily into them in the late 80`s through to the mid 90`s.

However, I can`t listen to them much anymore.

All that big ballad shit has tainted their rock credentials and everthing since "Nine lives" has been a parody of their earlier stuff.

You can`t help feeling that these days they are only doing it for the money.

    I still like them.

I even like Steven Tyler on that new Santana song.

He's a damn great vocalist... And though those ballads that have almost become the biggest part of their last albums, they still can make a few real rock tracks; just too bad they used rhythm boxes on "Just push play", because a couple of rockers really made it on that record IMO.

I like everything through Get A Grip, Then I think they kinda lost it. 1973-1980 they were up there with Zeppelin, The Stones, The Who. Then Joe Perry Split, And Guess who was the opening Act that blew them off stage because of that, VAN HALEN!!!, Probably helped CVH expand its fanbase by easily blowing Aerosmith off stage each night. Then Perry and Tyler reunited, and From 1987 to 1994 there were up there with bands THEY influenced, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Poison, Skid Row. I still love Aerosmith, Their my secound favorite band ever behind only Van Halen.

Hey, I really dug "Rock in a hard place".

I know Joe and Brad weren`t there but to these ears, it rocks.

    "Jailbait"!

    "Lightning strikes"!

"Rock in a hard place (Cheshire cat)"!

It`s a REAL rock n roll album, perhaps the last one they ever made before the Geffen sell out.

I liked that album too, That could've been Aerosmith's last record. Tyler was dying because he missed Joe so much (See Behind the Music.), Would've been pretty sad.

Dug 'em all the way up until and including Done With Mirrors (Rock In A Hard Place DOES kick some ass, agreed).

With every subsequent release post-1985, the band has a couple of good tracks with each album alongside a bunch of formulaic, corporate rock style tunes.

Pump was really the last one that I'll still play from time to time. Shit, Young Lust and F*I*N*E alone make that album worth it. With Get A Grip and beyond, the band just compromised too much of their attitude to lob power pop ballads onto the radio. God bless 'em, 'cuz they made their money, but not from me.

Plus, although Joe Perry knew how to come up with killer riffs, he sucks ass lead-wise.

I think it was "A little south of sanity" live album where I gave up on them.

Sure "Nine lives" really sucked but I would have forgiven them one shitty album.

Then that live album came out and it was like rocker, ballad, rocker, ballad, ballad, rocker, ballad...it had no balls.

    Totally the opposite of "Live...Bootleg!".

Then "I don`t want to miss a thing" topped the charts and I realized that Aerosmith weren`t a kick ass rock band anymore, but a band that your gran and even the local priest could tap their foot to.

Still great players but it`s over.

Next to Roth...my OTHER favorite frontman is tyler. BUT..I tuned out after Eat The Rich. Can't stand them now...they just irk me. To be honest...I was completely turned off by them when they shared a stage with Britney and Justin 3 years ago. They want to keep making music and have their faces out there , but enough already. Nothing will ever top their run from the 70's until the late 80's. I delt with the 90's stuff (Cause I had a huge crush on Alicia Silverstone back then!Remember her? Mmmmm.) but lets be real folks...the band was much better when they were drug addicts and alcholics...just being honest...and I know...i know..the truth hurts.

They interviewed Steve Tyler on the local classic schlock station here yesterday. It was one of those "10 questions" deals.

He said his favorite Aerosmith song was "No More, No More."

    I didn't make that up.
