To enjoy a world cup properly(especially if you failed to qualify) you need to know who you are supporting in as many games as possible.

For 2006 my rules will be as follows in order of priority

a) Support any team playing England(Obviously)

b) Support any team who by getting a result in another fixture will disadvantage England.

c) Support Brazil. Usually the best team to watch. Great fans.

d) Support teams playing Germany. Don't like the style of German football, their diving and the way they fire snot out of their noses during games. Plus home advantage is too strong, even England won it at home so support the underdogs. Ran into some unpleasant German fans at Euro 1992.

e) Support teams playing Tunisia. Met their fans in France 1998, bunch of pricks.

f) Support Holland. Good team to watch and have been unlucky over the years. Cool fans.

g) Support Portugal. Good team to watch.

h) Support teams playing Italy. Negative diving cheats.

i) Support teams playing Mexico. Their high world ranking because they play crap teams all the time irritates me.

j) Support teams playing against Saudi Arabia. Cheated Scotland out of the World Youth Cup in 1989 by playing over age players in the final.

k) Support teams playing against Serbia, Iran, Angola and Korea. Just generally nasty places.

That should give me someone to support in nearly every game.
