Did England qualify??
Is Beckham playing?? If so, remind me to place my wager on the other team.
Ack ack choke!!!
Now I'm beginning to look forward to it, I mean die Welt Kup... Summertime will be young, sweeties will wear shorter and lighter clothes, hormones will be working full blast; besides, it'll be cool winding up at the pub to watch a few matches with pals. I personally don't really mind who's going to win, contrary to most of viewers.
There's only one thing that bugs me: the winner isn't necessarily the best, as far as football. What really pisses me off is to hear that "only the result counts" (well, talking about a smart observation... ) and "the hell with fair play and brilliant game"...
A few Swiss folks I know see that way. Talks are getting tougher and tougher as far as the chances of Switzerland in the group of France... Well, I think they should spare their goddamn saliva for the very day of the fucking match, really.

Not that we needed any more evidence, but well: again tonight, Monaco def. Lyon (first defeat outside in the championship this year)...
Well, if they dare do that on the ground, what do they actually do in the locker rooms?
I hate it when they fall down and cry like they've
been shot!!!

Here's a piece of news that won't change much about the Welt Kup: Zidane declared this evening that he would "definitively stop [his] career after the World Cup in Germany".
Well... unless he starts hearing voices again.
I've never liked that dude much, in fact. That monk head, you know, and his being some kind of a dumb ass "on the edges" during interviews...
At least Platini or Cantona could speak, and say accurate things when they were asked... well, maybe not that much in English!
One month to go for the Frogs... France vs Switzerland, June 13th. The French team composition has just been revealed: they chose Barthez as the goal-keeper!
Hey, DLN, Jero, are your national teams known now?

Any Bulgarians post here?
Scotland 5 Bulgaria 1 last Thursday.
Just thought I would mention it...
And we're back!
The Dutch team
Van der Sar
(Manchester United)
Kromkamp Boulahrouz Ooijer Van Bronkhorst
(Liverpool) (Hamburg SV) (PSV) (Barcelona)
Van Bommel Van der Vaart Cocu
(Barcelona) (Hamburg SV) (PSV)
Kuijt Van Nistelrooy Robben
(Feyenoord) (Manchester United) (Chelsea)
I would initially have asked you about the Scottish team too, but I remembered they'd been eliminated.Originally posted by Seshmeister

What a score! Bulgaria eliminated France from the World Cup in 94, BTW... 2:1 in Paris, last match, a second goal in the last 3 seconds...
Ha! Ha! "Cocu" means "deceived husband" in French...Originally posted by jero

There's another (Brasilian, I think) player whose name is Kaka, which means "poo(p)" ("caca").
There's a French player whose name is Sagnol, which sounds like "his hooch". Besides, I'm sure there will be other funny names in June, in any language.
I'll look for the French team and post its composition asap.

Yeah man, I know. When Holland played in France for the Worldcup, everytime Cocu was at the ball, you could hear the French repoter fighting to hold his laughs! That was very funny and was played over a million times at Dutch radio!

Thierry Henry is the man!! That man plays football like it should be played.
This time I'd find it fair if the Orange won the Cup, really. It's their turn. That would be most fair a thing to happen, if you look back. I already thought so in 1998 and during the 1986 Euro.
You know, I'm no chauvinist, I just like it when the best win, but it doesn't so often happen that way in football...
true, in the end the Germans will win!
Return of the Gurkentruppe:
Goalkeepers:
Jens Lehmann, Oliver Kahn, Timo Hildebrand.
Defenders:
Robert Huth, Arne Friedrich, Marcell Jansen, Per Mertesacker, Christoph Metzelder, Jens Nowotny, Philipp Lahm.
Midfield:
Michael Ballack, Torsten Frings, Tim Borowski, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Bernd Schneider, Sebastian Kehl.
Strikers:
Lukas Podolski, Gerald Asamoah, Mike Hanke, Miroslav Klose, Oliver Neuville, David Odonkor.
Bottomline:
Quarterfinal over & out
Day-dreaming's gone commercial
Yeah, they were pretty unlucky to lose on penalties to Brazil.Originally posted by Jérôme Frenchise

Damn yeah, he's great! Thanks for the link, jero.
Hey, I just hope so Sesh, really. I'm no chauvinist... During the Tournament, the only times when I support the French XV is when they play vs England or Italy. I'll always be on the side of Wales, Ireland and Scotland, can't help it!Originally posted by Seshmeister

Just the same in football, but well, it's a little harder for you in that sport.
If you say the Scottish team is growing strong, though... I take it as a good thing!
You got that right! Woeful performance indeed. I remember the joke that went round at the time of when the Nike sponsors visit that pussy Ronaldo in the sheds when he's having a panic attack saying to him, "Just Do It!"Originally posted by Jérôme Frenchise

Of course I support the French XV against England too.
When France came back against England at Euro 2004 the big bar in Scotland I was in went insane!
One of my pals actually burst into tears of joy and spent the next half hour phoning all his friends and relatives...
