FIFA obviously didn´t want Germany in the final, considering the ridiculous banning of Frings and the fact that, in an important game with Italy in it, the Italians get their first yellow card in the 89th minute, give me a break!

Dude I know you are hurting but I was completely neutral tonight and the referee had a good game.
Its the earlier games which were ruined by stupid petty referees booking people for fuck all leading to the game being ruined.
The match tonight was excellent and free flowing and the way the game should be. As for the suspension, the guy fucking punched someone yet he was still going to be allowed to play in the final.

What I´m saying is, so far FIFA´s sacred mantra was that a ref´s decision is final, no matter what. All of a sudden half Italy calls for a suspension and hey presto, there ya go!Originally posted by Seshmeister

The rule is that if the referee acts at the time then FIFA can't so Figo's headbut didn't get him banned because he was booked at the time.
In the middle of a fight after the game the referee missed the punch so it can be acted on.
You can't say that Germany doesn't have a lot of influence at FIFA. The fact you got to host the World Cup when it should have been in South Africa proves that.
Anyway Germany has rode her luck for a long long time. Relying on always winning penalty shoot outs in vital matches isn't football. Italy hit the woodwork twice and won 2-0 when you had home advantage.

The penalty against Australia was a little soft but it wasn't a dive and I'm still not sure it wasn't a correct decision.

Italy desserves to get out of that competition with no title. I can't stand the sight of them. They qualified on a hold-up vs Australia, and it's true they all spend most of their fucking time lying on the grass as if they were about to die.
But the Portuguese are even worse than that to me. Mere cheaters/assholes.
I'll have to be a bit of a chauvinist just for once tomorrow evening and, I hope, next Sunday.
