"help somebody, moment of truth and c'mon children" off their first album....fantastic!

so many textures in their music.

i really dug them and stevie wonder's early 70s albums in the early 90s when i was in college and experimenting with smack.

ahhhhh i can almost feel that relaxing warming sensation again

E,W And F is like. The Beatles Meets Jazz meets Parliament Funkadelic meets a Marching Band! I love the band. September, Shining Star, Lets groove are some of my favorites.

Single handidly responsible for the careers of 99% of every rapper ever known cause apparently they are so talentless the only thing they knew how to do was talk over Earth, Wind, and Fire beats. That may sound negative but I'm all about Earth, Wind, and Fire. I just find it amazing that alot of the people who listen to rap don't understand that Biggie didn't come up with that "Notorious" hook. That was Duran Duran. And Warren G. didn't have that hook for "Regulate" that was Micheal Mcdonald. Now that I think about it, he did't even come up with the intro to the song. That was a quote from "Young Guns".
That new phone commercial or whatever is the perfect example of what I"m talkin bout. Dude is hummin Culture Club's "Karma Chamelion" and when the other dude asks him if thats what he's hummin he looks all defensive and says "No"! leavin the guy to feel embarrassed cause he actually asked a valid question but the response he got made him feel like he's a jackass for not knowing it wasn't Boy George. The look and the body language makes me sick. It's like this generation is being all offended cause they think their favorite artists is talented enough to come up with this shit and don't realize if everybody was as talented as their favorite artists music in any form at all would not exist today for lack of originality and the sad fact is, that is exactly whats happening if you look around.
Gotta say, I'd rather listen to Enya or Ace of Base over all of the popular shit nowadays and I can't stand either one of them bitches.

Queen was ripped off for "Ice, Ice, Baby"!

VH was ripped off for "Wild Thing"!

Rick James was ripped off for "Can't Touch This"!
The list is endless. By the way, these are the other 1%.

I respect the fuck outta Dr. Dre because at least he'll acknowledge who he's samplin. I may not like most of his music but the very fact that he ain't tryin to pass it off as his is a novel approach. Hell, 2001 didn't have any samples. It was all live instruments.

Can you say that about "Pumkin Patty" or what ever the fuck Seana Combs is callin himself this 15 mins to extend his career? I guess I'm biased on him because I would love to bitch slap him, Sting, and more than anybody else Jimmy Paige.

    Sorry, had to vent.

I love E,W, & F and I'm sure they are makin mad bank on royalties....

Diamond Dave himself, in his autobiographic book "Crazy from the heat", wrote that CHIC were "the disco Led Zeppelin". CHIC is the only disco band that our buddy mentions.
I will stand by his opinion, but I have to recognize that EW&F deserve the title just as much, though there were not such a powerful pair in EW&F as Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. But I totally agree about Earth Wind and Fire: they kick elephants' asses.
