That was done to make all the colonies equal in the senate. Then in the house you have representatives based on the population. No way were the colonies with less people going to sign a constitution that would give the more populated colonies all the power.

Most people from other countries, and sadly this country, don't get that concept. A republic is about letting the minority have some say in matters. It's NOT majority rules.

And our right-leaning, often sparely populated Red states pay less in taxes than the funding they take in from the Feds because we get continually fucked in the real states that drive the engine of economic prosperity and innovation...
