The government should do exactly what the preamble of the Constitution says it should do....
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Of course I am. It's just that building and repairing proper infrastructure in this country IS part of promoting the general welfare, and providing for the common defense. The interstate highway system, for example, was inspired by what Eisenhower saw in Germany during World War II, and was built in the middle of the Cold War when everybody was paranoid about the Russians.
