That is the US Fest. I believe it was May 29, 1983. It was a festival that lasted a few days.

That was the "record setter" show. Van Halen was the highest paid band, at that time in history, to ever have been paid for one show. I think it was a million, or a million and a half.

Other bands that played that weekend include: Motley Crue, Ozzy, The Clash, The Stray Cats, etc... Van Halen headlined, "Heavy Metal Day."

The latest, and so far best, copy of this to surface is the Old No. 7 DVD. You can find it on JamToThis.

Hope this helps. I'm sure the other guys can fill in the real specific details that I have forgotten.

    It was a concert.

    There were people there.

Oh, and there were some rock bands too.

What else....oh yeah...it was in the desert, and they were attacked by Arab terrorists.

    Many people died.

But the government covered it up.

    Well, your a little right...

But it wasn't an attack, it was just an Arab farting in the dust that people took as what we now call, A dirty bomb.
They only covered up the turd he dropped, not the incident.

Hey man the second day at US 83 was a killer line up. Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy, judas Priest, Triumph, Scorps. and the one and only VAN FUCKING HALEN. The version of Girl Gone Bad was an unknown song at the time of the show. 1984 had not been released.
