At least we agree that the two bands are a totally different entity. Because of this they should adopt their unoffical moniker "Van Hagar".
Its unfair to dupe the fans into believing its the original band. Or misrepresenting its name.

Van Halen was a classic Rock Band in the same vein as Led Zep.
Van Hagar was a moderately successful 80's pop band in the same vein as Chicago, REO Speedwagon and Air Supply. Some chart impact at the time, but easily forgotten over time.

Each Van Hagar album had less and less success, although still comercially viable, the sales were declining with each new release. America was getting bored with the Spammy influenced pop version of Van Hagar, and so was Eddie.

And now they have rehashed this dead horse ? Why not get the original team back together who was ruling the world at the time of their split. Ironically the last best selling Van Halen was the original lineup in 96.

Do they think this Spammy shit will sell without Dave involved?

However, If they do use Dave tracks to bolster its viability, it shows what a sham this "reunion" really is.

There was three viable options available for Van Halen. (In order of commercial viabilty)

"The Reunion" the original band
"Dave and Sam" for the fans of both eras
"Sam Hagar".

They chose the least of the three viable options. Simply, the Van Halen brothers are ignorant dicks who dont give a shit about the fans, and have entered into another half assed situation expecting their old fans to lap it up. Will another failure finally teach them ? I doubt it, they are too ignorant, old and stupid to realize, and that is *the* fucking tradegy.

Van Hagar's sales fell with every album. In true sequential fashion
VHIII (with yet another bastardized lineup) fell right down the shitter.
The biggest success they have had in recent times was with Dave in 96. They still rely on Dave even when he is not in the band ! Fuck off Spammy idiots. You have no valid argument. Sammy had nothing to do with the creation of Van Halen. Although Ive got a good feeling he's going to have a lot to do with its demise.

Well, Best Of Volume One had ten tracks from the classic lineup (counting "Me Wise Magic" and "Can't Get This Stuff No More") and seven Sammy tunes. But they overlooked a lot of songs, especially from the Dave era, so I wouldn't be surprised if Dave and Sammy are represented equally on the second volume.

I'd imagine the tracklisting will look something like this:
