"If the American people had ever known the truth about what we (the BCE) have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched." - Poppy Bush, 1992
I only voted for him the first time. And who else was I going to vote for, Moosealini?
In fairness, he wasn't my first, second, or even third choice in the 2008 primary. The only one I thought he was better than was Hillary. Still say I was right about that.... though sadly not by as much as it appeared at the time
Hillary would have been even more dangerous...
Talk about lesser of two evils...
I don't support dynasties..... not the BCE dynasty, nor the Clinton dynasty. And the fact that the Clinton dynasty is a little too buddy buddy with the BCE doesn't help either.
Not Liberal at all. 2008 would have been the perfect time for an actual Liberal to run for President. After 8 years of Chimp and Darth Cheney, this country was begging for a new FDR to heal the damage they did to this country.
Obama didn't fit that description, though he certainly campaigned as though he would. If not for corporations buying the election cycle, it would have been a Kucinich landslide.
FDR didn't heal shit, BTW...
Yes he did......
Two countries managed to pull themselves out of Great Depressions in the 1930s. The other one was Germany.
We could have taken Hitler's path. Some people in this country (including the BCE) wanted to. But the American people chose wisely and elected the man who saved us from fascism. Both the foreign AND domestic kinds.
And now that the economic situation is the worst since it's been since the 1930s, it's going to come back to the exact same choice:
1) Return to the policies of FDR, which saved this country and kept it safe until 1980.
2) Completely turn into a fascist state.
That is the choice. There are no other options.
You wrote ELVIS is the KING, all fucked up...
Scared? Hardly. "Unimpressed" is more accurate. But your macho posturing on behalf of your new messiah is admirable and a little strange....all at the same time.
Why on earth would I post at a site that is basically a vbulletin carbon copy of the Roth Army? The format is the same, and the content is virtually the same. The only significant difference is literally black and whiite...with the Army having a black background and DLRF having a white background.
I only went over there a few times to try and answer the question I asked earlier in this thread..."what the fuck is going on?? And now I know.
My observation about WARF's signature was intended as humor. If my observation is correct then I just think it's funny that he screwed up the acronym of his own website...that's all.
Of my numerous character flaws, disloyalty has never been among them. I've been here for 8 years now and I've never gone anywhere else with the exception of a handful of posts at DDLR when the Army crashed for awhile.
If WARF wants to "go solo" then more power to him. You guys have fun over there. Go ahead and "eat us and smile." And I'm saying that in all sincerity. You obviously have a core group of folks who want to do things a different way....but that doesn't mean that both sites can't coexist somewhat peacefully.
But just remember that for every "Eat 'Em and Smile" there's a "Mambo Slammers" not far down the road....and the realization that the only viable path is the road back home to where you started.
I'm fine right here...thank you very much.
The Roth Army will always be where I call home. Like Classic Van Halen itself, there are no substitutes for the ORIGINAL.
Roth On!

I am with you. I wish that site all the best, if nothing else then for the fact that I like to keep some of those people there, away from me.
I do think it's sad to see so much bitterness there. Sure, you don't have to have a lunch thread, but does half of the threads have to be about people here?
But best of luck!
The heart is on the left. The blood is red.
You don't actually believe that bullshit, do you? Do you honestly think that your "relevance" is directly linked to your "join date?"
Respect is earned, friend. You're not entitled to it simply because of the date you signed up. There are literally thousands of names on the member list here of people who joined many years before you. But they never post or bring anything to the table, and they certainly have never donated their own money to help support the site.
Do you feel that those people are more "relevant" than you?
I would hope not....

I was being sarcastic. I don't know how many times I've seen members here (talking about members here, not site policy) talk down to newer members over who's been here longer or who's posted more. I really wondered why they accepted new members if they felt they were so insignificant as posters. They even have a who's who of trolls that they trot out once in a while. Moderators should moderate according to the rules and not their personal opinions of the relevance of the poster.
Moderator for a day and you got it all figured out, eh ??
You say you wish them the best then you make another statement about all the bitterness there. Then you repeat the same old they're talking about us most or half of the time bullshit. You're making a running commentary about another site having a running commentary about this site. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Says the fired moderator. You don't have to be a moderator to know what one is. Or what they're supposed to be anyway. They are not censors of content they don't agree with or rulers of the conversations they moderate. They are there to see that the conversations keep within certain limits of the rules of the forum not within the limits of a personal agenda.
Get off your high horse, dude...
I totally agree about the extent of personal bias, yet when it comes to curtailing thread derailment, being such an oddball myself, I really can't offer all that much. The truth is, I enjoy conversation (albeit typed), and love the way things can go off into tangents of all sorts, be it references to movies, trivia, ect. In real life, this is the way folks communicate, so why should it be any different in cyberspace?
OK, I appreciate the fact that a certain part of the populace wants to keep things all buttoned down and in order, yet for me, when I'm not taking care of a patron, doing some ultimately senseless filing, putting shit away that will only be taken out so I can put it away again in an abject form of futility while waiting for a smoke break, I'm in for as much chaos as possible to break the overwhelming spirit of monotony.

We've had our differences but I've always respected your personal style. You simply ignore the people who piss you off unless they break the rules then you act accordingly. It's not personal with you. You give your opinion of the post but you don't attack the poster. You'd get my vote if the leadership of the site was voted on by the other members.
