I think this list is cuntfusing people a bit.

If it was about posts then Arielle Bot would be top 10.

People are also cuntfusing(see a flappoism) this for a popularity contest.

If it was objective then me and Conmee would be lower in the rankings and Cato, Mr Walker and even Lou and some others would be higher for the bootlegs at least. Also in the the great scheme of things Warf himself would be top 10 or 15 but that would be immodest for him to say. It all depends on which particular bit of all this shit interests you be it bootlegs, humor, the dump or even the new Sheep Pen thing.

The best thing about Warf's list is reminding some of us about all the people that have come before and have got a life and moved on after making a lot of great posts and making us laugh. Sarge himself is now in that category.

Let's face it having a lot of posts at a site dedicated to an ex rock star is nothing to be particularly proud of...

Coming up with new info, funny stuff, bootlegs or influencing the character or posting style of these forums is what I think Warf meant by this thread. That's why he put Flappo high up even though he has posted almost nothing about DLR/CVH in 4 years because he still influenced the place.

I'll give you an example. My first thread at this site in 2001 or so was 'Would it have been better if EVH had died in 1985 and become a lgend like Hendrix?' Within 5 minutes 8 of the mods and Webmasters screamed 'How fucking dare you contemplate such a thing, Eddie rules how fucking dare you you prick?." I think Hitch and maybe Warf were the lone dissenting voices. Things have changed a hell of a lot on the CVH boards over the years.

Hitchworld has become pretty irrelevant now because it was created as a separate site so that people could post the kind of stuff that is routinely posted in the HW Dump forum here but it has had a huge effect on pushing the envelope of the community.

If you go to most rock band sites if you forget where you are you'll be banned in minutes. For better or worse this is the way CVH forums have ended up and WARF's list largely reflects that and who fucked it up...

Sarge should be #1 though and Brett #2 for entirely different reasons.

Over the years, you grow to figure out who is loyal to your site, and certainly Panamark was that...and even though we were on different sides of the aisle for a long time...we grew some respect for each other...and now call each other friends. And fuck...the prick met his WIFE on this board (at least I think he married her), so...the fucker owes US!

9. FORD--Ford has been banned from every site in the world I think...and the fact of the matter is that he is perhaps the most loyal Roth fan I've ever met...nearly to a fucking fault. He steers the left side of the politics here...and I think may have actually had a hit on Senior Danniels...as a matter of fact...ask him what FORD means...lmfao...for those that think he's a fan of Detroit...

I looked at who shaped this site first and foremost...which is why SARGE, Icon and BS1 were top 3 on my list...not a popularity contest...simply a fact...

So they may agree with you...but they'd be wrong.

I went with Grant #3 as my first "outsider" on my list because EVERYONE went to his site every day before any of these sites were even thought about...

Brett #4 because he was the first real influential message board...

Von #5...back to the insiders...and first to branch out and create a SUCCESSFUL website...not including that free deal that many wanted to keep open...but I absolutely wanted to be a temp board until the Army came back up...and also influenced a great many posters on this board.

I'd also have Daveman and thatartguy up in the top 20...and they aren't factors in this site whatsoever now...but certainly had something to do with what this site became...

IMO Grant at the VHND should be #1 in terms of influence, he ran the best site for years, and covered the whole Dave/Sam thing in '96 incredibly. I think people really forget that, and most people who are going to read this weren't even around then. I mean he was working night and day, posting anything and everything he could about the situation, the level of dedication he had at that point was unreal. The work he did back then on the VHND is legendary, and beyond that, he's just a real friendly guy.

When I started Links back in '99, he promoted the hell out of it when he certainly didn't have to, and its immediate growth really was aided by him helping get the word out.

I think the day he stepped down from doing the VHND was truly a dark day for the VH web community...but how can anyone blame him, there's very little to talk about.
