I have been sitting here for 10 minutes waiting for Dr. Love's animated gif in his sig to load.
1. She is hot.
2. All I want is the page to load. Instead I have to be bothered by the message "transferring data from josh.middlepath.com at the bottom of my browser window....
3. A single JPEG image will suffice.
If you have to insist that people watch the animated gif, just post a link to it.
This must be killing bandwidth, as the animated .gif (though really hot!) has to load in every single post he made in threads that hundreds and maybe even tens of people are looking at all at once.
Item #2: Youtube videos.
Posting a "youtube player" in the thread. Is it really necessary?
I mean, I am as grateful as the next guy for the cool vids and all, but everytime the vid has to load in that one thread, isn't that sucking up bandwidth as well?
Just post a link to it, and let the YOUTUBE website deal with the bandwidth...they are set up for that....
I can see hosting images on other servers, certainly if they are larger than 150 Kb......but all these videos and animations are eating bandwidth ALIVE baby......I can just hear the terrible shrieks as the bandwidth is eaten ravenously by animated .gifs....
