Indy Car is Great! It doesn't get the attention it deserves which is really sad. The Races are a lot better than Nascar very suspenseful, Plus they are wayyyy faster. Nascar is still god though, But this is one of the Best Days outside of Football Season for me.
BTW...I hope Danica wins for a Renactment of the '99 Womans Soccer team vicotry With everything coming off. Plus If she does win It will help make the Sport's fanbase larger.

IMO...Champ car and Indy car have to figure out a middle ground...

I can see a combined Indy car...with Penske and Newman reunited with the circuits they love more than anything...
it can compete with NASCAR...
let's not forget that Indy cars in the 80's and 90's regularly had more viewership...and in general...a bigger fan base...
once it split...things changed...because both circuits can't fill stands...and sometimes can't field a full field...

One of my great thrills in life was in 89 or 90...I was sitting at Municipal during race week watching the Tribe playing...and I look up, and there's Al Unser Jr. and his family...sitting by themselves...
nobody knew who it was...or was to afraid to talk to him...I don't know which...
there were only a few thousand fans there...
so I walked up, and said a few seats away from him...and I mean, nobody was within' 20 rows of us...and I say to him...Mr. Unser, I don't want anyone to notice you...but if you could sign my program...it would be an honor...
and I ended up sitting with him for a couple of innings...and you should have heard him talking about Indy...
and he thanked me for being nonchalant about it...
wrote a real neat autograph for me as well...
I wouldn't exactly say it was a major thrill...but it's not often you spend 30 minutes with a future Indy winner....
anyways...I know Indy racing is good...but it's not as good as it can be because all the best drivers aren't there...
there are damn good drivers in Champ cars...
