David Lee Roth: Strummin' on the Tonight Show

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    June 6, 2006

David Lee Roth: Strummin' on the Tonight Show

David Lee Roth, bringin' it on National Television, and thanks to Dave's PA Rental, complete with THE PERFORMANCE via youtube

(A.P.) Hell, Mich. - Roth Army World Headquarters

Well...I'm sitting here...literally 3 minutes away from Roth performing on Leno's show, and I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about it. Roth will be doing what he does best, performing on a national stage. More than likely...this is something that a reunion with Van Halen wouldn't even provide him.

It's interesting, as I'm waiting, thinking about the Roth naysayers, talking about how washed up he is. Funny thing is, is that Roth always finds a way to reinvent himself in some form or fashion. So to the naysayers...we here at the Army want to throw you a big fuck off. You have no fucking idea what you are talking about. More than likely, you are tuning into "The Gay Chef" cooking some Buffalo Balls dipped in Cabo Wabo Teguila.

    Time for the performance:

Roth...with Jeans on...and the yellow oxford...crowd is getting into it...and look who's playing on guitar...a familiar face for sure...Brian Young...

He's performing Jump...and it's fantastic...a great little mix of music in the backround...and even though Jump isn't one of my favorite VH tunes...it's damn good to hear on TV again.

It sounds great, great crowd reaction...clapping in the background. Roth is toned down for it...but still Roth...listen to the CROWD! They are going nuts!....

Roth, is pointing over to the chairs, and said, "Don't Hurt Yourself Over There Boys..." to the Blue Collar crew, who were going nuts...their own kinda music...

Holy hell ladies and gentleman...can you believe this shit...Roth brings himself to the forefront with bluegrass VH...

A great performance from top to bottom, and Roth looked like he wanted to jump right the fuck out of his skin, but kept it cool, and did a great job. He coulda, shoulda performed a different song, but no doubt wanted to play a song that the general public has heard before.

Welcome back Dave...again...the Roth Army salutes you...

Watched it. Pa-thetic. Dave, you're a washup. Reworking a tired old tune with a bunch of hillbillies and a silly grin on your face? Groan.

Ladies and gentlemen...you can always tell a good performance...when less than 20 minutes later...the outperformed start posting negative reviews...

Hope your Buffalo Balls turned out alright...

          Don't worry...it's an old time poster...with a new "look."

          and expected...

to the the old timers here...

that poster was "Sammy Roy Hagar."

He was probably up all day with that cued up...

Maybe this is what a heroine addict feels like after getting a long awaited fix, shooting up in the corner of some abandoned building and just not giving a fuck about what the rest of the world thinks...TATTOO"

It's sad that you either registered to say that, or that you're an alias for someone who doesn't have the balls to say it under their usual username....

                      let me tell ya.....

for one, Dave sounds better than ever!!!! I dont know if some who bashed this know how hard it is to sing and sound good with little music behind you and your vocals way up front. Dave bashed a home run for sure and sounded excellent, his voice sounds as good as ever.

#2- I love the new twist on the song and something new is always good. it worked!

#3- someone must have gave dave some pointers of todays fashion cause he def is dressing better. this will def get him points and acceptance more to the new crowd. dave looks great!!!!!

good for you Dave, nice showing. loved it!!!!!! excellent!

I'll admit this is my first post, and I'm only a marginal VH fan; I more enjoyed DLR as a solo performer.
I have to agree with everything in the above quote, except for the 'bunch of hillbillies' comment. These are some of the best bluegrass performers in the world today assembled to back up that fiasco. I was embarrassed for them.
Really, guys - he looked uncomfortable, contrived, and desparate - and sounded even worse.
Help me to understand the good in that trainwreck.

                          Bill

Ok, I'm guessing you are an alias for someone LvGod...

Well first of all, "Jump" is a great song in any format.

Dave owns the stage there, you can hear the fucking audience clapping and screaming along

                            That's genuine not contrived!

He's smiling because he is enjoying it, and that makes me enjoy it too.

But maybe it's not for everyone?

                            But Dave ain't no washup....

Uhhhh... don't you ALL post using an alias? Is your real name 'binnie?'

Well first of all, "Jump" is a great song in any format.
I think I can speak for a great many bluegrass fans when I say this one ain't workin'.

Not for everyone? Yeah, your right, I'm sure. The majority of the DLR fans seemed to enjoy it; I guess that's what's important.
My bet is that he won't be doing the bluegrass circuit anytime soon, though.

On second thought, it might just be crazy enough to work. I guess I'm interested enough to hear what the rest of the stuff sounds like.
