Am I the only one who has noticed that this ALMOST WORKS?
What do you mean?
I like to pay close attention to the things I'll forget later...
poor quality but still pretty cool to see edd in action without hammy shagger screamin.
As someone who saw him drunk and staggering around the stage in Biloxi back in 2004, I can honestly say he looked and acted sober on this video.
Please don't go there.....Originally posted by MetalSkool

Even Chesney fans know what's up.
"Eddie, Eddie, Eddie..."
Actually didn't look as bad as I had imagined. Thankfully. Maybe there is hope.
5 stars for finding that vid.

“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
It is cool that they did Roth songs and not Hagar songs.
Before anyone corrects me I know that one of the songs is a Kinks song but you know what I mean.
Spammy is playing at the House Of Blues on Wed. here where I live in Myrtle Beach. I am thinking about going so I can run up on stage and light Sammy's hair on fire.
Post a pic if you do...
BUT NOT IN THIS FORUM !!

Wait, don't catch Sammy's hair on fire yet....wait until Ed and Al put out a press release that Dave is back with them.
And then use Sammy as the Human "Van Halen Torch."
["To be lit when the VH Reunion announcement is made. Of course this is a "Dave Only" torch."---------and Dave should light it!]
Hmmm, looks boozed to me. See as he gingerly sets his guitar in it's imaginary stand. Shaved his face , coloured his hair , he's a star again!
Makin a run for the beer tent he remembers to mention his keeper Alice on the drums to avoid a smackdown backstage........
Mission accomplished he get his press .
Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!
Somebody make that torch...
I have to admit that the torch looks somewhat like a vibrator. Anyone else notice that?
I hear that Sammy every now and then on the tour he is on brings a singer from a VH tribute band on stage to sing Runnin With The Devil.
Cool to see Eddie And Alex come out of their holes. They NEED to get back with Roth. After this if they end up getting back together with Hagar then I GIVE UP!
What are the chances that they try to tour with Roth and Hagar together? I don't think Hagar would do it because any ovation he gets would be like nothing compared to what Dave gets. Then Sammy would cry about it.
And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Genesis 21:17
It was OK, nothing more.......
Thanks for finding it!
The Power Of The Riff Compels Me
I just kinda get the feeling that this was Eddie's answer to the Dave "Eddie's becoming a hermit" jab....I hope Dave will KEEP provoking him.
Yeah, that would be Michael Anthony.Originally posted by PlexiBrown

... still... weird to see them playing for Kenny Chesney. You would think he would be a guest and they would be the headliner, not the other way around.
I'm not sure about that. When he grabbed the mic and called out "Alex Van Halen" he seemed to be slurring. It's impossible to tell how he was actually playing from the shitty quality of that video.Originally posted by ALMOSTsaved

But at least he doesn't look like he just walked directly out of a padded cell, like he did on the Velveetapalooza 2004 tour or other recent appearances.

Yeah, he was slurring a bit. But that could be cause half his tongue is gone. Who knows. I haven't really heard him talk much since then. But it's a positive thing that they both came out finally. And the way the crowd was chanting Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. I just have the feeling that this is good news.
The thing that gets me, is that u have dave singing and touring a bluegrass version of VH, and then u see ED and AL up on stage with chesney, playing the songs in the origional rock form., at a country concert. It looks like to me that both camps maybe stirring up the masses on alot of differant musical fronts, to maybe and that is a big maybe, meet somewhere in the middle and join up.
He was definitely half cocked... Slurring and just not all there..
KiD
NO ANGER there on that vid! Nope none whatsoever! ... and ed looked great too ... NOT! There's a face in there somewhere and a shell of a man trying to save face!
Good point! I think Chesney might be feeling the bluegrass thing was a poke at him or something!? Maybe his way of saying DAVE stay on your own turf! VH music needs to ROCK!Originally posted by MUSICMANN

Fuck all this country shit. It sucks. Unless its with Waylon, Willie, or Hank Williams jr. country fucking sucks. Dave needs to grow his fucking hair back, get back to the gym, and reunite with these fuckers or Iam not interested.
I hope the audience gave ED & AL a taste or a teaser of what a CVH Concert could be...if they would only.....
This country croonin' audience can't appreciate VAN HALEN Like Us, so if this audience was any indication, I'd say us ROCKERS would sound WAY LOUDER, CRAZY and a helluva lot more WILD !
"Meet us in the Future.....NOT the Pasture".......DLR, August '07, VH Press Conference - Tour '07-'08
I find it at least SOMEWHAT encouraging that they played a VH tune (albeit a cover) and NOT some dumbfuck Van Hagar song.
Then again, NOBODY knows nor remembers any of those moldy cheddar "songs" thank God.
EAT US AND SMILE!!!!
Agreed and I also noticed the "slurring" myself. I know a lot of Edward defenders might blame the cancer. However, I still think he sounded a bit crocked, IMO.Originally posted by FORD

Ummmm yeah... His playing sounded a bit out of whack and subpar. However, there wasn't really enough for us to hear to give a full and fair opinion.
Still, I don't get Edward's "bum" look? Something's fucked up with him, IMO.
To be fair, Ed lost a good chunk of his tongue...
Roth Army Canada
Respectfully, I have to disagree. I was just talking to DG about this not two minutes ago and she brought up some extremely valid points. First, how many years has it been now? Secondly and with the money Edward has, he's probably been through speech therapy. Also, he's done interviews and has spoken several times since the chunk of his tongue was sawed off and he didn't sound like that.Originally posted by DavidFlamma

I'm just going to call a spada a spade, agree with FORD and state that he sounded inebriated to me. Seriously, he sounded buzzed and from what little guitar playing I heard, he sounded OFF as well.
Sorry and I know I'm being completely pessimistic but Edward's given me no reason over the years not to be so.
I hope Dave listens!Originally posted by Douglas T.
VH music needs to ROCK!
CVH is meant to rock.
I definately think there was a message there to Dave
too coincidental that they are jammin with a cowboy "frontman"
I just hope its a positive message and not a Fuck Off kind of thing

I know it sounds silly but that's what I think. It also helps to explain The Chedd Rocker's endless whining cos his insecurities are on all, full cylinders in the press. Hagar leaches on to BOTH Michael Anthony along with that dumb assed "Other Half" garbage cos he KNOWS how close a REAL VAN HALEN REUNION could be if all of the proper stars are aligned.
Such a reunion would ONCE and FOR ALL stomp The Van Hagar era from memory for good.
Some folks might get this comparrison but to me Hagar (along with Van Hagar) is nothing but a pile of dogshit, understand? A lot of things can happen to dogshit. It can be scraped up with a shovel off the ground. It can dry up and blow away in the wind. Or it can be stepped on and squashed!!!
So take my advice Hagaritas and be careful where the dog shits ya!!!
I'm optimistic in that I think all of Dave's "calling out" of Ed may be workingOriginally posted by MAX
Sorry and I know I'm being completely pessimistic but Edward's given me no reason over the years not to be so.
Dave said things like "Ed may be further away than we thought", etc. He was trying to get Ed off his ass, and I think it worked
something made Ed want to get out there on stage (with a friggin cowboy, no less) two weeks after the release of Strummin with the Devil
Makes sense and great post.Originally posted by diamondsgirl

I don't care what ANYONE says but a REAL Van Halen reunion would be huge and a kick in the ass that the current state of music needs.
It also makes me laugh cos I can just tell Hagar's in "panic" mode cos what's he going to say when the PEOPLE actually speak? A REAL reunion would sell out like crezzi and then who could The Chedd Rocker blame when comparring it to the flop Van Hagar "reunion" of two years ago? I guaran-fucking-tee that if/when VH does a full fledged REUNION that every venue will NOT have to tarp off half the arena's seats!!!
Meaning, remember how Dave ALWAYS used to say (when he was in VH) how they (VH) were "THE PEOPLE'S BAND?" I mean they WERE for the people. I guess they still are?
I missed this but you're also correct with the fact being that he also played with Alex. I know I'm also probably grasping at straws and repeating myself but they also played two VAN HALEN songs, NOT Van Hagar ones!!!Originally posted by diamondsgirl

Cos THAT'S what the public wants to hear. That's also why Hagar's holding onto Michael Anthony for dear life at this point...
Something's "inevitable..." *fingers crossed*
Again and say what we will but Dave's PR person/management and what have you have had both The Van Halen name and himself ALL OVER the media in 2006.
At least Eddie abandoned the odd-looking Samurai hair of 2004....
