I'm not sure about that. When he grabbed the mic and called out "Alex Van Halen" he seemed to be slurring. It's impossible to tell how he was actually playing from the shitty quality of that video.

But at least he doesn't look like he just walked directly out of a padded cell, like he did on the Velveetapalooza 2004 tour or other recent appearances.

The thing that gets me, is that u have dave singing and touring a bluegrass version of VH, and then u see ED and AL up on stage with chesney, playing the songs in the origional rock form., at a country concert. It looks like to me that both camps maybe stirring up the masses on alot of differant musical fronts, to maybe and that is a big maybe, meet somewhere in the middle and join up.

Agreed and I also noticed the "slurring" myself. I know a lot of Edward defenders might blame the cancer. However, I still think he sounded a bit crocked, IMO.

Ummmm yeah... His playing sounded a bit out of whack and subpar. However, there wasn't really enough for us to hear to give a full and fair opinion.

Respectfully, I have to disagree. I was just talking to DG about this not two minutes ago and she brought up some extremely valid points. First, how many years has it been now? Secondly and with the money Edward has, he's probably been through speech therapy. Also, he's done interviews and has spoken several times since the chunk of his tongue was sawed off and he didn't sound like that.

I'm just going to call a spada a spade, agree with FORD and state that he sounded inebriated to me. Seriously, he sounded buzzed and from what little guitar playing I heard, he sounded OFF as well.

Sorry and I know I'm being completely pessimistic but Edward's given me no reason over the years not to be so.

I really and HONESTLY believe that at this point they ALL know that they both need and really WANT to fire up the chemistry again.

I know it sounds silly but that's what I think. It also helps to explain The Chedd Rocker's endless whining cos his insecurities are on all, full cylinders in the press. Hagar leaches on to BOTH Michael Anthony along with that dumb assed "Other Half" garbage cos he KNOWS how close a REAL VAN HALEN REUNION could be if all of the proper stars are aligned.

Such a reunion would ONCE and FOR ALL stomp The Van Hagar era from memory for good.

Some folks might get this comparrison but to me Hagar (along with Van Hagar) is nothing but a pile of dogshit, understand? A lot of things can happen to dogshit. It can be scraped up with a shovel off the ground. It can dry up and blow away in the wind. Or it can be stepped on and squashed!!!
