Also, you can still buy Peach Nehi as well. I actually like the stuff as far as soda goes.
Was Peach Nehi invented in Utah? Sounds like one of those Mormon names to me

This is readily available down here. I took a can of a different brand with a better picture on the label to Missoula, at a friend's request. Alot of folks couldn't believe it was a viable product.

Is there any part of the pig that they WON'T eat down South. I've heard that pickled pigs' lips are a delicacy in some places as well.

Think I'll stick with the occasional pork chop or ham sandwich.

Taco flavored doritos are still around here, I just had some a couple of days ago, I even still have the bag . Though, I remeber they had Taco Bell Flavored ones which were cooler, IMO.

I dated this Mormon chick for a little while and she was very serious about living by the rules (which is the main reason we weren't together that long)

She used to drink Barq's root beer frequently. At first I figured she knew what she was doing, but one day, just after we had discussed the LDS church doctrine on caffeine, she was once again drinking the Barq's.

I said "You DO know that has caffeine in it, don't you?"

The shocked look on her face couldn't have been any worse if I had told her Donnie Osmond was a serial killer. She really thought she had committed some grievous sin against Heavenly Father.

On the other hand when I stopped for lunch in SLC on my 2002 road trip, I was surprised to find bottled water with caffeine in it!! Of course, I bought it. Perfect for a long day of driving through a barren wasteland. But I had to give the cashier at the store a little shit about it.

"The church actually allows you guys to sell this stuff??"

He just laughed. Probably afraid to say anything one way or another on the subject.

Oddly enough, I've never seen that caffeine water anywhere else BUT Salt Lake City. Oh the Ironicy.......

    FORD,

I always wondered how you knew so much about the church. lol

The one thing (well among the many) that still floors me regarding the "words of wisdom" is how it's intentions are to be "healthy" and so on. Yet, so many Mormons are so obese it's sickening. They say "No alcohol" and on and on while they stuff their collective faces with endless cakes, cookies and jello salads. They do the same thing with their children as well.

Also "caffinated" water? Is it Mountain Meadow Springs Water? :p

It's all about the vinegar and salt. That's what they taste like. This chick in I used to work with would show up with one wrapped in a napkin...like almost every day. They full-on cook 'em as well. If you go to Abdullah's (The Butcher) house of ribs and chinese food for the wednesday lunch buffet, there'll be a pan of 'em swimming in BBQ sauce. Don't go on monday unless you like chitterlings....you can smell 'em in the parking lot.

Got the holy top removed and had my hands inside the holy panties..... and that's when Joseph Smith or whomever told her to freak out and not go any further.

As I said, we weren't together that long. Faced with a choice of either religious conversion or blueballs or look elsewhere, it wasn't too complicated of a decision. She wanted the big Temple wedding and all that shit, and I told her up front that I wasn't converting.

Oh, I know and have had "experiences" with Mormon chicks all too well. In highschool they happened to be some of the biggest horndogs ever. Their way of thinking is that they could party, fuck, etc prior to getting married in the temple and they'd be forgiven and have a one way ticket to the celestial kingdom.

Oh, the water brand name was a joke. I was using the infamous "Mountain Meadow Massacre" incident for the sick humor. Are you aware of that event?

I remember the commercials. I also remember my mom refusing to buy it. So I made my own version with regular peanut butter and Hershey's syrup.

By the way, I guess we can include the old Hershey's Syrup cans in this "graveyard". You only see it in plastic bottles now....

I have family down south and a few years ago we went back for a family reunion, KFC had chicken livers and gizzards on the menu. As far as pigs feet my wife loves those and chitterlings (pig intestines) I came home from work once my wife and her sister were cooking chitterlings on the stove,I puked and gagged for about an hour before I told them to get that garbage out of my house and take it somewhere else. I swear to GOD it smelled like somebody opened a sewer line in my house.

They still make these. But the changed the packaging long ago and got rid of the characters. Sad. Now the little Mexican boy has been replaced with a fireball with a face.

Pop Shoppe is still around in Canada.

Of the trinity of Monster Cereals, only Count Chocula is available widely. The other two are very hard to find.

Anyone remember Snow White Cream Soda? Dynamints? Jello-Pudding Pops?

There used to be a chocolate milk flavored drink I was obsessed with, I'd pester my dad to buy it everytime we went to 7-11. I think it was called Brown Cow. It might have been a regional product, but it has long since disappeared. Anyone remember this?

One candy really sticks out in my mind from when I was a kid...I remember eating them when I was 5 or 6 years old...I think they were called "Candy Apple", but I'm not sure what the actual name of them was since I couldn't read at the time...that's what I called them. I do remember how good they were. Anyone else remember this candy? It was a big red apple shaped candy on the end of a white candy stick. I know I'm not imagining things, because I remember them vividly.

New Coke, renamed. I think they still sold it in the midwest up until a couple of years ago.
