CVH vs. Van Hagar album sales

Besides the fact that VH1 and 1984 alone have practically outsold the whole Van Hagar collection. Some asshole at the Links the other day was saying that the Van Hagar albums did not decrease in sales album by album.

    What gives?

    Van Hagar sucks BTW.

All you have to do is go to VH's official website and click on each album and it shows how many each one sold. If you add it up CVH has definitely outsold Van Hagar.

    Look, it's simple.

There are two frames of thought here.

There are the facts, which show that Classic Van Halen sold 35 million albums, including 2 that are 10x platinum, while the Van Poodle catalog sold in the ballpark of 15 million albums, give or take. You put it all together, and being the #1 album for a couple of weeks doesn't equate to longetivity.

    Then--

There are the Hagar panderings. That's right ladies and gentlemen, according to the Fat Poodle, HagarHalen sold 75 billion albums--

    and that's just in Paraguay.

Shit, they sold 30 million in Trinidad and Tobago alone, which is impressive since there are about 38 people on both islands combined.

if warner bros. would audit the catalog, vh1 and 1984 would both be over 12 million by now if not even more...

Well...considering Van Halen 1 went 10x platinum...in 1996 I believe...I'd say for sure it would be over 12 million...or close to it. I doubt it for 1984...I believe it went 10x in 2002...

No doubt they are over those sales...

but this is perhaps the most talked about bs on the planet...

    according to riaa bullshit, vh1 10x in 1996 and 1984 10x in 1999, so 10 years and 7 years

    1984 went from 7x in 1994 to 10x in 1999, 3 million in 5 years, none since

    vh1 went from 7x in 1993 to 10x in 1996, 3 million in 3 years, none since

besides dave was quoted in 2002 as saying those albums each have sold well over 12 million

    vh1

and they were remastered in 2000, so they could both be well over 12 million

i mean really back in black has sold 21 million copies i would think vh1 would be in the 15 million range - it was selling a million copies a year in 1996

nothing against ac/dc but a mediocre catalog built on 3 good albums, black in black, highway to hell and dirty deeds

besides i look at top selling vh albums at three sites, amazon, tower records and apple and vh1 and 1984 are usually in the top 1000 and the top two studio albums of the vh catalog, always

i'll shut up, they sold a shit load of albums

album sales have obviously slowed down

besides if they toured like ac/dc and aerosmith and bon jovi the albums would have continued to sell over the years and they no doubt would be up there with the two of those bands that riaa claim have sold more albums than vh

who cares, i don't give a fuck, i'm fucking arguing with myself
