      yes he is involved,

"Seven songs on the album were written by Jim Steinman, producer of Bat Out of Hell II, and principal songwriter of the first two albums in the trilogy. His involvement follows the resolution of a lawsuit over the Bat out of Hell trademark between the longtime friends and collaborators Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman. The two came to an amicable agreement that ensured that Jim Steinman's music would be a continuing part of the Bat out of Hell legacy".

      but i won't buy that . No i won't buy that.

Between all of those, he's recorded Dead Ringer in '81, Midnight at the Lost and Found in '83, Bad Attitude in '84, Blind Before I Stop in '86, Live at Wembley in '87, Welcome to the Neighborhood in '96, Live Around the World in '96, The Very Best Of in '98 (I count that because of the new material on it), VH1 Storytellers in '99, and Couldn't Have Said it Better in '03.

With a break between '77 and '81, Meat Loaf's been making music almost consistantly since 1977 and the "Bat Out of Hell" series of titles is just something he revisits every 13-15 years or so.

He's done plenty of non Bat Out of Hell albums over the years, actually. Mostly it's people who really aren't too familiar with his music that think the Bat Out of Hell series is all he does...

Admittedly, those albums are without a doubt his biggest hits...
I confess that I am a bit ignorant about Mr. Loaf's music career, and I thought the BOOH albums were the only ones he had done. I'm not a fan of his music, just like I'm not a fan of the other meat loaf. Thanks for the enlightenment.

No worries. I'm an old school, long time Meat Loaf fan, so...

Ahhh! That clears that up...as much as two months ago, there was a lot of confusion as to whether or not Steinmann had any involvement. Meat Loaf was playing one or two songs in concert announcing them as "Written by Jim", but Jim was also denying involvement with the project.

            Guess that clears that up...

Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but I thought you were an old school Meat Loaf fan...? Didn't we have a conversation about him last year, or am I thinking of somebody else?

It's over at the main Meat Loaf (singer) article at Wikipedia, though...

Maybe I didnt word that last post very well. For sure Im a fan.
Bat out of hell is one of the classics.

But Im also a believer in the original lineups of anything
magical.. What I was trying to say is that I wouldnt listen
to it, if JS had no input.

If Meatloaf himself tried to palm off "Bat 3" without Steinman,
                        that would piss me off.

Steve Vai is supposed top play on at least one of the songs on the album.

I just listened to it earlier, and it's not bad, not bad at all. It has a surprisingly hard sound to it for a Meat Loaf song, probably because former DLR Band guitarist Johnny 5 Lowery was involved with it. Meat Loaf sounds like he's gangsta rapping the lyrics to the song, though.

The Loaf needs to bust this out @ a press cuntference, when they ask him about Steinman's whereabouts!

                                "I can't lie
                                I can't tell you that I'm something I'm not
