    DLR in Rantarock, Finland

    Hi!

This is my first message here although I've been a hard core VH fan for over 20 years and I've been downloading bootleg stuff from here.

I'm a Finnish guy and if you probably know, DLR threw a gig in Finnish Rantarock Festival in 1999. I captured the TV broadcast of that gig (almost an hour on Finnish TV) on videocassette but I'm not sure where the hell that videotape is Well, maybe it wasn't the whole gig, but only some of it.

However, being a DLR fan, I transferred the audio tracks (from Hi-Fi stereo videotape) to the harddisk of my computer and burned it onto CD. I still have this CD even if I'm not able to find that videotape anymore.

If the webmaster, who is taking care of those bootlegs here in DLR Army, wants to upload this gig so that everybody else could download it, please let me know and I'll sent him the tracks in MP3 format.

P.S. I also have a bootleg tape of the latest Billy Idol tour and he's playing "Jump" in the front of German audience. If somebody wants to hear that, I could also send that in MP3 format.

    Yeah, thanks!

I also have these rare livesongs on CD:

    Down In Flames
    Bullithead

The sound quality of those songs is not so great but I think they've been recorded from soundboard before the first album came out.

I also have half a dozen Van Hagar bootlegs on CD & 1 DVD if somebody's interested but I guess that nobody is ;-)

I don't know whether this have been reviewed here but the bootleg company called Apocalypse Records has released DVD called Van Halen - Video Collection 1978-1984. I already had all those videos on a videotape but its quality was quite poor. I don't know where these guys from that record company have found those tapes but it seems like they've been taken from the original master tapes because DVD's quality is very good. Unfortunately "Jump" was a disappointment, since it includes DLR's interview and very little of the song itself.

Haven't got a slightest clue! Maybe they're some kind of bootleg company who's putting about these bootleg DVDs.
Actually, their real name is Apocalypse Sound.

There's very little information about that DVD in the internet but I found the cover and the song list:

No. There are no logos on the screen except on Shoo Bop which is, according to Apocalypse Sound, broadcasted only once. There appears VH1 logo on the screen. Otherwise there are no logos and the quality of that DVD is excellent. The only setback is that on "Jump" there's DLR interview and only bits and pieces of that video.

    Wow, pretty impressive list!

But I must say that this "Video Collection 1978-1984" DVD is worth buying if it suddenly appears in front of one's eyes.

I had the same kind of collection on videotape (and I still have) but there "Jump" was in its entirety.

I've been thinking of buying that Best of VH DVD and then taking "Jump" out of it and adding it to that "Video Collection" DVD because I hate that this company (Apocalypse Sound) didn't put "Jump" in its entirety on their DVD.
