Kerry King & Michael Sweet compare flying V's!

German power metal band EDGUY and the legendary American death metal band DEICIDE have been confirmed to perform on the main stage of the third edition of the Monterrey Metal Fest, set to take place Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Coca Cola Auditorium in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

SLAYER and STRYPER will co-headline the event, which is being billed as "Hell and Heaven United". The concert promises to be the "biggest and baddest version yet," featuring eight of the biggest names in heavy metal music from all over the world on the main stage and 12 up-and-coming international and Mexican bands on the second stage.

The official festival pre-party will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Cafe Iguana with mini-sets from bands that will be performing on the festival's main stage and second stage.

The main-stage lineup is shaping up as follows, with more bands to be confirmed:

SLAYER
STRYPER
EDGUY
DEICIDE
WARCRY


We don't do a lot on Slayer, so when we do it's hard to not dig up their old exposed photos found HERE. Lets take a look shall we?


Jeff Hanneman & Kerry King of Slayer. Jeff looks like he's been watching some Judas Priest videos with KK Downing - and we can back that. But Kerry looks like he's been watching reruns of Welcome Back Kotter.

The disco shirts definitely suck too. Is it odd that if you changed the white or red stripes to yellow you got yourself a full blown Styper outfit! Ironic or mornic?


Did Styper originally borrow these stripes from Slayer?

I think that got canceled once Kerry King found out that the Stryper was on the bill. I read it on Blabbermouth and Stryper's site had it up also.

Kerry King is such a pussy. If he was such a bad ass, he'd show Oz Fox how to throw down on the guitar. Plus, I didn't think this was a tour, rather just a Festival. He thinks religion is a crutch, but it's gonna suck for him when he dies, if as a lot of people around the world think, their is a God.

I gotta say that all I could listen to before my parents let me listen to metal before I was 14 WAS Stryper ... I think it's fucking cool that heaven and hell were together at least for that night ...

This is a funny lineup but I have a feeling that the fans will sort of be kind to Stryper... I kind of like like both bands.
