Desert Island Albums (If you had to pick 5)

So I am doing a little listening this morning and strumming my strat and I find myself throwing in some staple Rock albums. You know, albums you enjoy from start to finish. If you were stranded on a Desert Island, what 5 albums would want with you to get you by????

For me at the moment, it would be the following..

    1. Alice & Chains / Unplugged
    2. Social Distortion / Somewhere Between Heaven & Hell
    3. AC/DC / Back in Black
    4. Van Halen / Van Halen
    5. Pink Floyd / Momentary Lapse of Reason

You'd waste a pick on BOBW??? Just take a CVH instead!

I'd take my top 5 albums all-time, which unfortunately doesn't contain any VH...VH would be there if I could take 10....

    5. Stones- Beggars Banquet
    4. Alice Cooper- Love it to Death
    3. Ramones- Road to Ruin
    2. AC/DC- Back in Black
    1. AC/DC- Highway to Hell

    Currently I would take:

    Yes-Going for the one
Emerson, Lake and Powell-Emerson, Lake and Powell
Iron Maiden-A matter of life and death
    The Doors-LA Woman
    Judas Priest-Unleashed in the east

It could change in five minutes, though.

    ZZ Top - Eliminator
    Deep Purple - Fireball
    VH - VH II
    Led Zep - Physical Graphitti
    Any Queen album until "Innuendo"

    Subject to changes, naturally...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

"At the moment" is the key phrase here!

    Metallica - Master of Puppets
Guns N Roses - Appetite for Destruction
    Van Halen - Van Halen
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
    ACDC - Powerrage

(I'd do my best to sneek some other records on that island though)

    In no certain order:

    1. Iron Maiden "A Matter of Life and Death"
    2. Iron Maiden "Powerslave"
    3. Iron Maiden "Piece of Mind"
    4. Iron Maiden "The X Factor"
    5. Iron Maiden "Killers" or the self titled, whichever I picked up first

Now, if I had to pick something besides Maiden, it would be these for now:

    1. Helloween "The Dark Ride"
    2. Kyuss "Blues for the Red Sun"
    3. MD 45- the one with Lee Ving on vox
    4. Pantera "CFH"
    5. This would have to be one of my own compilations with tracks by Corrosion of Conformity, Overkill, Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica (Kill/Ride/Master era), TNT, STP, Megadeth, Wolfsbane, and Blaze.

Hell motherfucking yes I'm gonna pick The X-Factor. In case you haven't noticed, I love all eras of Maiden. You don't like it? Fine. I'll be sure not to let you on my island. This is my list, damnit!

As for the Captain and Tenille...I'm not familiar with their catalog. You appear to be. Wanna clue me in?

Why does it offend you so much that I love The X-Factor? Shit, I'm not even bothered by the fact that you love the Captain and Tenille!

Some cool choices there Matt, now I wanna change my list.

Any AIC is a good choice (best band of the 90's?) and "Nothings Shocking" is a great record.

    Yes.

The Powell is ex Rainbow/MSG/Whitesnake/Any band you can think of drummer Cozy Powell.

He replaced Carl Palmer in the 1980`s version of ELP.

They only made one album and it is great.
