Its true that Wolfgang is now an official member of Van Halen.
What that means is that they have every intention of touring with him in 2007.
Mike has not been contacted by Edward and probably won't be either. I cannot go into detail as to why, but there are good reasons and only a few know exactly why. I'll leave it at that.

Dave, though not officially back yet is indeed back. There is hope to make the announcement fairly soon.
An album is in the works, what is not set in stone is just how many vocal tracks there wil be on it.

Things look really good.

Thanks for the update but "looking good" is a matter of perspective. Ed dictating terms and his track record of late of marginal playing (see Rise and Catherine) leads me to believe this album is likely closer to III than II.

Ed, seriously, grow a pair and do the solo album you keep trying to turn every VH project of late into. I realize you won't have a lead singer to scapegoat if it isn't well received but I think its time to man up.

The more I hear the more I am getting turned off on this project.

If the porn sound track is representative of where Ed is at he needs to call it a career. The tank is beyond empty. Combined with III and the BOBW tracks I don't see how anyone can hold out hope that a new album would be anything but a commercial flop and a critical blood letting of what is left of the band and legacy that is Van Halen. Why Roth wants to be a part of this is becoming more and more difficult to comprehend.

Well, its entirely possible the 3 or 4 or 5 tracks that were recorded with Dave in 2000 may see the light of day with a new release.

Coupled with a few new tracks that Dave may write lyrics and melodies for, you have the potential of a full album.

New music may be the reason why Dave is interested. Its entirely possible, while he may not have been down to 5150 yet, Dave has heard some of the new stuff Ed's been working on.

If Dave thought it was shit, there's no way he would be considering coming back. But if he thought there was something there, he'd be down with it.

Besides what Ed has done on his own (porn soundtrack), we haven't heard any of this *new* VH stuff.

But we do know that the stuff they recorded in 2000 was reported by Dave and Mike (and The Guy ) as kick-ass, classic VH material.

The thing we have to take into account is that Ed's track record WITHOUT Dave has been SHIT.

With him (ie: MWM, CGTSNM), its been great.

Well then, if that's true, we won't have a real reunion after all and yet another incarnation of Van Halen.

This really sucks and hopefully Dave is against touring with this lineup if Mike is indeed out!

This is NOT a reunion tour if the bass player is not in the band, and I will not be interested in anything released by this latest Ed Van Halen "project", nor will I be interested in seeing any shows.
