God it must suck to be you.
Here, have some pity.
23. That's the number of people Mr. T has pitied in the time it has taken you to read this sentence.
Netflix still blows away any Blockbuster or national chain video store I've ever been a member of.
Just in sheer number of titles alone (50,000 +), Netflix wins hands-hands down.
$10 a month gets me about a movie a week, sometimes two in the same week (one Monday and one on Saturday). So much variety, and I don't have to leave the house to make a special trip to the video store, then BACK to the video store for new-release one day rental bullshit...
...and it's as easy as going to my mailbox.

You've just done some advertising for a service you claim to dislike.
Netflix would appreciate you getting their name out there.

Out of interest, what happens when someone steals a movie from your mailbox, and secondly, couldnt you just take it from your mailbox
and claim it was never there ????
I think netflix is just starting up in Oz, but I was wondering about
these obvious pitfalls when mailing things..

If you don't get it, you just go to the website and request a new one and just check the box that it never arrived. Same thing if you send one back and they don't receive it. Just have to tell them the date you sent it and the zip it was mailed from.
It's way better than going to Blockbuster and seeing everything new is checked out and having to deal with the spaz's behind the counter.
Meet us in the future, not the pasture
Yeah, but thats my point, wouldnt a lot of movies "go missing" ???Originally posted by diamondD

The US Postal service is very easy to blame
Im just wondering how these guys are running a profit..
1, for reasons above, 2 with newer, faster broadband on the
way, we will be downloading whole movies, legally in 5 minutes.
If you ended up with a suspicious number of movies "missing in the mail" they would probably suspend your account.

I can tell you this: first heard about Netflix in 2002 from several different people I knew who RAVED about it.
I asked them all the same questions you are asking, because I had all of the same concerns. They all said essentially the same thing in the end: Check it out and see for yourself.
Finally started up an account last December. Have probably had about 40 titles shipped to me since that time. EVERY title was something I WANTED (and in many cases, something I had been searching out to RENT for awhile, but didn't want to pay $20-$50 on amazon/eBay to BUY), as opposed to settling for whatever was left at the video store. I didn't have to spend any time at a video store looking at dvd and vhs boxes trying to figure out what I wanted; just type in the name of an actor, actress or director in a search engine or use the genre search...
I've had ONE instance out of 40 where I was shipped the wrong disc. Simply informed Netflix of the problem online, and it was taken care of.
I was skeptical too, until I went ahead and tried it. Now that I have, I never want to deal with a video rental store again.
At the end of the day,
Netflix is far superior than any rental store. Far less hastle.
Trust ME!
Netflix sucks!
