    Woodward's book

    I'm in a hurry and only scanned the forum so I didn't have time to see if there was another thread dedicated to this topic but if not here is the link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15063982/

    I think you'll find the fact file section interesting and especially this little nugget of a quote by Rumsfeld on page 2 of the article;

    Official administration reaction was relatively muted. Bush did not address the reports during remarks at a political rally Thursday night in Alabama for Gov. Bob Riley, and Rumsfeld refused to comment on the book — for which he was interviewed extensively.

    “First of all, I haven’t read it,” Rumsfeld told reporters Friday when asked about the book during a NATO meeting in Slovenia. “Second, I don’t know what you’re referring to. And third, you can find someone in government to say almost anything you want.”

    That "third" example sure as fuck sounds pretty haunting after the fiasco that is Iraq and the premise for invasion being WMD's don't it?

    Another thing I find interesting is how Rice contradicts the book by saying this:

    Snow quoted Rice as saying: “That’s not the way Don Rumsfeld operates. He’s not a guy who’s going to be copping an attitude about chains of command. He’s somebody who makes his point directly.”

    If I remember correctly isn't he the one who gave the order that high ranking officers and Joint Chiefs could no longer use the title CIC or OIC of their specific area of command or something anymore during Bush's first term because it should be saved solely for the president to hold that abbreviation or moniker?
