I always thought that might be the joke: just as there's no democracy in China, there's no record...

I think Axl is trying to turn Chinese Democracy into this generations answer to the Beach Boys' Smile album. It's probably not going to happen. People kept interested in Smile over 35 years, and what it might have been like, because Brian Wilson was a musical genius and the Beach Boys were very close to peaking as artists. Now, Guns 'n' Roses on the other hand, or more accurately the Axl Rose Band, well - I don't think they're going to get that kind of fire.

But in 35 years, who knows? Maybe he'll actually release it.

Just a random question, but what record company is supposed to release this, anyway? Certainly not a major label, right?

It's on "when pigs fly over a blue moon" records.

They're a small company, they don't release records that often.

All this "classic rock" nonsense. The vast majority of so-called classic rock singers couldn't sing worth shit. Mick Jagger and Roger Daltrey being glaring examples.
Try to sing like Roger Daltrey. The man is theatrical when he sings. There's stuff on the new Who album that sounds easy to sing. When you actually try to sing it, you realise just how great Roger is. He really does give life to Pete Townshend's songs.

Roger Daltrey isn't the world's greatest singer if you're looking at him from a technical perspective or something, but he gives the songs a great sound that nobody else could ever give them. He brings them to life. If that doesn't make him a great singer, I really don't know what does.

But, please, continue making a fool of yourself.
    Waylon Jennings: 1937-2002. RIP, Hoss!
