Jason Becker doesn't get enough cred. Period.

Long Live Classic VH
Agreed.
Balanced great technique with a sense of style, as a result he didn't overplay......
The Power Of The Riff Compels Me
Thats all and because of T-shirts. I already have that one too, i was talking about how everyone is so depressed about how eddie has gone down the shitter, but no one talks about how depressing it is that Jason was robbed of not only his talent, skill and career, but his life. By something that wasn't even his fault.
Agreed.
Check out his MySpace page...amazing how the guy remains positive despite his ordeal...remember, the guy was given three years to live in what, 1994 and he's still here. He is an inspiration.

I don't think that Becker doesn't get enough cred...
There isn't a bigger Becker fan than me...I think he could have been one of those special...special players. Some say he already was...and in hindsight...
that's true.
He was the one guy that could find the Brownsound, and the Vai sound in the same tune...
and not sound like a "cover" boy.
The only issue is that he didn't have a body of work when he stopped playing that can place him in that "special" category. His GREAT album was still in his fingertips...
which is unfortunate.
What he's done SINCE his guitar playing days ended...far exceed anything he did with a six string...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

Fucking awesome.
Marty Friedman said that he used to play the parts in Cacophony that he couldn't play.
Now that's fast!
Everytime I see this type of thread title I think it's gonna be about that he's dead.
Holy shit! I didn't realsie that!Originally posted by MERRYKISSMASS2U

dave's career would have taken a different way with that guy...

I hadn't even realized that Dave played with him!
There is the horrible irony of it all. Jason would give anything to do what Eddie is too lazy to do - go out and give the fans what they desire. Jason has always been about the fans. We will never know what might have been BUT as someone stated previously here, what he has done since his playing days ended is incredible. Imagine that zeal and desire if he still had the full ability to play, no one could touch him and I mean that. Listen to his stuff on Cacophony, solo works, even with DLR-a few more albums and I dare say some people would be asking "Eddie who?" I don't mean to sound facetious because every day I thank God for my health and I am blown away by the positive atttitude that Jason displays and I am not sure that I would be half the man he is if it happened to me.Originally posted by matt19
