Val Kilmer as Diamond Dave in "The Dirt"

Vince Neil has just confirmed that Val Kilmer will make a cameo as David Lee Roth and Christopher Walken as Ozzy in "The Dirt," a movie based on Motley Crue's 2001 autobiography.

dave's bit on the sopranos was hilarious. brief, but hilarious. if the cameo's like that, then it's gold.

Val Kilmer's one of the most underrated actors of our generation, if not THE most underrated. The man's diversity as an actor is almost unparalleled...where Johnny Depp is in the public consciousness, Val Kilmer should be right there with him.

Also he's a hell of a good singer! The Doors soundtrack and the Top Secret soundtrack prove that beyond any doubt...

Val's a fine choice. I hope.

However, if it actually happens, you will not see Val Kilmer on the screen. You will see David Lee Roth.

Val has an incredible ability to mimic people. In the film Wonderland, he seriously took over the persona of Johnny Wadd. Talked just like him, had all his mannerisms in the way he moved and spoke.

Check him out in the recent remake of "The Island Of Dr. Mareau". Towards the end when the Island and it's inhabitants descend into madness, he is doing an amazing impersonation of Marlon Brando. I heard a tale that Marlon Brando used to get irate when Val would do that around him on the set.

Val lost a *lot* of weight after the movie Alexander. He basically put on 50 pounds for that role. In newer pictures, he has even got back his angular chin.

I can see Val pulling it off quite easily.

Val Kilmer suprised fans and attending media by fronting The Doors (the original members) yesterday on November 8th, 2006 at the famous Whisky a Go Go in LA. Kilmer has lost the weight, and the response was exponentially positive.

"How funny is that going to be," said Neil at the Opening of Vince Neil Ink, the singer's new tattoo parlor in Las Vegas. The film, announced in April, is now in preproduction and is expected to be released in 2008 by Paramount and MTV. It's been billed as a true-life version of "This Is Spinal Tap."
