What would be a great opening song On a Classic Van Halen Tour?

Okay, the stage is set it's 23 years later (2007) and van halen is back with Dave. The lights go down in the arena or stadium. What would be the best song to open the most anticipated moment in rock. I could see Mean Streets, Ed playing the opening in the dark and then all hell breaks loose when daves comes out with the opening remarks of "at night I walk these stinkin streets" with the lights coming on.

Maybe another could be ed,mike and alex playing Intruder with the lights off and then when it collides into Pretty Woman , dave enters with the lights on.

Another can be Tora Tora similar scenario as the 2 above with dave coming out to Loss Of control.

any suggestions, what about a set list? a pay per view?

    Cradle Will Rock.

That would set the scene - whats more CVH than the attitude of that tune?

need Mike's vocals to make any of them work...

my vote has to go to Romeo's Delight - followed by Unchained- that is the greatest opening sequence in the history of rock and roll....

Cool IF YOU DON'T LIKE VAN HALEN

"IF YOU DON'T LIKE VAN HALEN"

I dig Bobby Dylan and I dig Johnny Cash
And I think Led Zeppelin is a table thumpin' smash
And hearin' Etta James feels as good as smokin' grass
And if you don't like Van Halen, honey, you can kiss my ass

    Chorus:
'Cause I think what they've done is well worth doin'
And they're doin' it the best way that they can
You're the only one that you are screwin'
When you put down what you don't understand

I said, I dig Deep Purple, James Brown; George Jones
Shotgun Willie Nelson and them rockin' Rollin' Stones
And David Lee's still gotta be the coolest in the class
And if you don't like Van Halen, honey, you can kiss my ass.

    Chorus:
'Cause I think what they've done is well worth doin'
And they're doin' it the best way that they can
You're the only one that you are screwin'
When you put down what you don't understand

For me, I would go with "On Fire"

Like the good old days, they used to open with this and it is a fantastic opener.

I have to admit, I really like the suggestions you guys have...but I think it may be a good idea to start from the 'beginning'.
If Ed can remaster this and get it done right.....how about ERRUPTION!
Then kick into high gear with either 'You Really Got Me' or 'Ain't talkin about love' with Dave doing a high kick to start things off.

'Unchained' is a song that literally blows off the roof so that can be done later to keep things in high gear. Keep 'Jump' as a song to close because that's how Dave leaves us off with. From beginning to end....keep the show filled with high octane!

Think about it for a second? With all that has gone on, what would be the most "appropriate" tune to open this with? that is of course if it is a real true all 4 member Reunion. Song---Where Have All The Good Times Gone!
If not that you have to go with the classic rippin’ opener Unchained or How bout RWTD??...that would be just as appropriate, huh? The 1st song off the first album! The place with explode as soon as the car horns played backwards were heard…and then Eddie hits those first chords! Owww!!!!!

I think that mean streets should be stuck in the middle of the concert with it's nice little solo at the beginning. Do mean street and go into Eddies solo with eruption. Opening song is definitely 'Fools'. Daves vocals 'oooooHOOoooo' to begin with to set the crowd on fire.

Runnin' with the Devil complete with the car horns. It might not have the fury of other songs but it seems appropriate.

Girl Gone Bad, lights down low during the opening cymbal taps and guitar strummin and than as the band speeds up the tempo and the song kicks in the lights shine bright as Diamond Dave jumps off the riser to greet the crowd. Priceless

My scenario starts with Sunday Afternoon in the Park, maybe an extended version just builds and builds...then it could go naturally into One Foot Out the Door which would be pretty funny, shows some humor in their situation, but I think it could also build into any song, I like Lighting up the Sky, or even Sinner Swing. That would set the tone in a hurry...

"Danger in the rearview mirror, there's trouble in the wind
Badness bringing up the rear, the menace is loose again
She looks so fucking good, so sexy and so frail
Something got the bite on me, I'm goin' straight to hell"

Head into RWTD - Hide Jump somewhere in the middle, leave out I'll Wait and close with Unchained and Panama. Come back for the encore with And the Craddle will Rock, Bottoms Up, Dance the Night Away

Not a bad way to spend an evening

I think that "Hot For Teacher" with Eddie tapping the shit out of his Frankenstrat and watching Dave do stage dives and throwing scotch to the audience would make my day!!!!!

That would be a good choice.

I had listed this for the closing song due to the next line...

    "leaving here we aggrevate you..."

I also think a nod to Wolfie (should he be on stage) with the "look at all these little kids, takin' care of the music biz"

Either way opening or closing this song HAS GOT to be played.

Maybe an opening song and then a reprive at the end.

It'll work for me because this baby is one of my favorite tunes ever.

I would hope something off a new record But that won't happen unless we get some honesty.

What would be cool is hearing those first bass notes from Runnin With The Devil, with the original band.

Hearing this would be magic backed up with new material... WOW
