THE man who designed cartoon canine Scooby-Doo died yesterday after a heart attack.
Animator Iwao Takamoto, 81, also designed characters on such shows as The Flintstones and The Jetsons.
Takamoto died in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for respiratory problems.
He designed Scooby-Doo, his equally cowardly master, Shaggy, and their pals Velma, Daphne and Fred in the late 1960s while working at the Hanna-Barbera animation studio.
