A textbook controlled demolition. Though it looks like they really stripped that building down before they blew it up. Even the Kingdome wasn't that stripped bare.

I don't know. It's a shame when an arena that used to have good (and even lame) rock shows gets laid to rest.
I saw a Satriani concert there many years ago. Flying in a Blue Dream tour I believe. I remember this spiral bumper to bumper parking lot nightmare going on afterwards. Joe had some good tunes then.

Should've put all copies of that Live Without a Net atrocity inside it first...

              Would've been fitting.

If that's the New Haven Coliseum, my first VH concert just got kaboomed. Freaky.

That place was a fuckin shithole. Besides VH tore that place down back in March of 1984. Yessir.

I saw my first Van Halen concert in the New Haven Colliseum, August 12, 1979. They opened w/Light up the sky and closed w/ Atomik Punk. Those were the fuckin' days man!

That was it. The summer of '79. Convinced my parents to take a train up to New Haven. Hey, it sounds like Van Halen, Ma, no problem. Scalped a ticket and it was worth it. On the way back, six brothers plopped down around me and could have kicked my ass into 1980. They were just messing with my mushy skull. One leaned forward, looked at my VH shirt and said, Van Halen, what the fuck is a Van Halen?" I tried to explain and they just laughed.

I attended that demolition. And I'm not gonna lie, it kicked a lot of ass. And after I was just reminded that that Van Hagar DVD was filmed there, it only makes me happier that I was in attendance.

VH played there with Dave several times too. They were there in October, 1978 opening for Black Sabbath.
