    Eagles recording a new album...

    Eagles Recording a New Album
    http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/2007/01/31/3497046-ap.html

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - After nearly 30 years, California's classic rock group the Eagles may soon release their first album of all-new music.

Founding member Don Henley said during a private weekend concert that the band was nearing completion on an album of all-new material, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on Tuesday. "It's coming out in 60 to 90 days, if we don't kill each other first," Henley, 59, told the crowd Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Eagles and Henley spokesman Larry Solters said Wednesday there was no comment.

"The Long Run" in 1979 was the Eagles last album featuring all-new studio material. That album included the Grammy-winning single "Heartache Tonight."

The group officially disbanded in 1982, then they reunited in 1994 for a comeback tour featuring Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Timothy Schmit and Don Felder.

The band appeared together again in 1998, with past members Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner, when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

It would be interesting if they brought Bernie and Randy back into the fold, and even Felder, though there's probably bad blood there, the way he was unceremoniously tossed out before the last tour.

I'd love to hear them pull off an album and tour where they didn't need any sidemen on stage, except maybe a spare drummer because Henley hates playing a whole show behind the kit.

Actually, their last new song was a one-off single a couple of years ago: HOLE IN THE WORLD. It totally sucked.

But hey...stranger things have happened. They had a couple of okay new songs on their HELL FREEZES OVER disc...and they were better than GET OVER IT...which I concur, MAX, was a shit song.

Being an Eagles fan from birth, I can't help but to be excited about it.

However, "Get Over It" and "Hole in the World" DID suck, as has been mentioned, which puts a damper on things...

The rest of the new material from "Hell Freezes Over" was rather good, though, as Rikk said, so anything could happen...

Hell I liked the song Get Over It. Guess I'm the odd man out.

I have always liked The Eagles and would love to see them again. IN FULL FORCE would be best.

And speaking of full force, Edward Van Halen can suck my balls for screwing everything up.

This is excellent news! The Eagles were faves on air back when I was a kid, and later I bought their whole catalogue.
They're a band of genius to me.
BTW, I was told once about their being the most stoned band on earth - could anybody confirm or rectify?

The man is a phenomenon. I mean, singing while playing an instrument is nothing easy for a start, but he was on DRUMS! What a tour-de-force!

If you have ever heard the Eagles Live album from 1980, you already know the answer to that question.

    Joe Walsh in particular......

    Wow man, I'm Frrreeeakin out!!!

Hell, Joe still sounds stoned here, and he's been sober for years.......

Well, it'll be interesting to see what develops out of it. More than likely, it won't go over super well, but it'll still sell, of that I have little doubt.

Might even be a surprise or two.

If nothing else, Timothy Schmit will probably sing and get something onto the radio that'll chart well in adult contemporary...

    Wow!

So there was no "bragging" there - you know, as some folks will exaggerate about their real state of "stonedness"...

Still stoned after years off dope... Hats off!

    Cheers, FORD.

At least with THE EAGLES, they always had a changing line-up. Felder wasn't even on the first two albums. But yeah, the guy wrote most of HOTEL CALIFORNIA. Pretty fucked up.

With the right material it could be better. I actually prefer DH's voice now as it has aged like a fine wine. It is more mellow and full to me. I thought he sounded great on the "Hell Freezes Over" disc..

But again, it all boils down to material..

Great to hear. Hopefully they won't charge $300 per ticket on the tour.
I hate it when bands rake their fans over.
These guys are brutal for that.

That's the truth. I saw them on the Hell Freezes Over tour, and a lot of the solos that I thought Joe Walsh did were Don Felder's. That dude has great taste in his note selection, and in all honesty is probably a better overall guitarist than Joe. Joe has a cool factor that is hard to beat though...plus he wrote Funk 49, which I consider one of the greatest riffs ever.

Definitely was it a money grab thing?a new eagles album might be okay in todays market provided in is not a don henley solo project.hole in the world tonight was pretty bad.I atually met don henley at a steak restaraunt in texas(dont kknow what he was doing there.)He was cool, talked to anyone who recognized him.i told him bill S. who produced Face dances by the who should be shot.He cracked up "the shitty drum sound holy shit !."thats what he said.apparently biil s produced eagles albums or something thus flat ,thudless, drum sound=don hen leys lackluster drumming and or sound.
