The VH/DLR reunion annoucement was made on Feb 2nd, and it has no connection to the award ceremony.
Almost 2 weeks since the announcement, and the torch still remains unlit and now you want to wait on an awards ceremony that includes Spammy the Poodle?

I was happy when I heard VH finally got inducted to the R&R HOF... but I was EVEN HAPPIER to hear that Dave had finally reunited with the band and was going to go on tour.
For many, many years, there was a symbol on the front page of Roth Army showing our hope that Dave would one day return to Van Halen.
That event was announced on Feb. 2nd and yet the torch remains unlit. Not the biggest deal in the world, it does not provide world peace, cure cancer or mean much in the bigger scheme of things, but at least with all that is going wrong in the world, and even what is going wrong in Van Halen (the whole Mikey thing), at least one little thing finally worked out right.
Dave is back. I'm happy. Wish it was a different lineup, at a different time, but I'm still happy and am looking forward to seeing my favorite frontman perform my favorite music, with one of my favorite backup bands.
You're right, the pretend online torch means very little, but Dave reuniting with Van Halen means a lot, to me.
