Diver Down
Fair Warning is far and away my favorite album VH put out. I could listen to Sinners Swing and Unchained non-stop.
Diver Down has it's moments:
Hang 'Em High
Full Bug
Secrets
Little Guitars is ok.
All the tunes on it serve their purpose.
I even dig Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now)
Can't say I've listened to Where Have All The Good Times Gone, Intruder/Pretty Woman or Dancing In The Streets much. Didn't even listen to them much when Diver Down came out.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
Dancin in the Streets is probably my least favorite classic VH song. It still has enough of the old sound for me to still listen to it. Ed's solo still sounds like Ed... unlike that crap they pass off as Ed nowadays.

Diver Down kix ass!!!
the guitar arrangement and layering on Little Guitars is more than you, obviously can comprehend.Originally posted by ALMOSTsaved
One thing about Hina...He can dish it out AND take it!
And in my opinion, "Little Guitars" is FAR from the quintessential VH song. Sure it's good, but if you MUST go with a song from Diver Down, "Hang 'Em High" is more apt for that crowning achievement.
Hang 'em High is amazing.
The Full Bug - amazing
Secrets - great
Intruder and Happy Trails - ehh
But all us motherfuckers ate it up at the time.

YES GOD_DAMNIT!!!
Seems to me that Pete masturbates to the guitar arrangement and layering on Little Guitars! And yes that is more than I, obviously can comprehend.
I like to pay close attention to the things I'll forget later...
I agree...Originally posted by Bill Lumbergh
Holy shit I'm surprised..........Forget Diver Down, I can't believe there are so many low rankings for WACF!! Everyone likes what they like, but wow, that's just a notch below FW for me. When that album came out my jaw hit the fuckin' floor!

I don't masterbate to music. I can, however hear it.
I apologize to all for the rude treatment of a female but,...
YOU ARE NO LADY.
Equipment alone does not a lady make.

6 Diver Down is my least favorite. It's filled with cover tunes and filler. Only 7 original tunes out of 12 and 3 of the originals are intrumentals. I've heard rumors that WB wanted an album ASAP after Pretty Woman was such a hit so the band went in the studio and recorded this pretty quickly. In my opinion it is the worst VH CD well not as bad as VH III.
And in closing to answer this statement:
Those songs are good, VH's rendetitions of them were beyond bad.
Now let's see you make a point that is coherent.
At least try and form a sentence this time.

Ah, C'mon man. You are smarter than this. Are you telling me that you think Diver Down was the shits? I think musically it was a fantastic album that showed VH were capable of re-doing tunes better than what they were meant to be originally.
Seriously, Big Bad Bill is a great tune. Daves voice and that clarinet are great. Awesome rendition of Pretty Woman. Dancin in the Streets.
Not to mention Secrets, Little Guitars and Hang em High along with Full Bug. That album rocked, and to say VH3 was better. Hey man. You are lying. Simple and true. VH3 sucked serious ass. Id rather listen to Timberlakes "Gonna rock your body" over and over again instead of listening to VH3 one more time.
"FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKIN' BITCH! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ANYWAYS? TALK TO ME LIKE THAT? FUCK YOU. DRAG QUEEN LOOKIN' WHORE- YOU AINT SHIT. YOUR THE FRECKLE TO THE LEFT OF MY BROWN EYE. NOW GO MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL...OH, PUT DAD ON THE PHONE"
No shit, I'm no lady. I have a penis. And trust me. it's bigger than "Little Guitars."Originally posted by pete

You have a point there, Panamark. However, I can't honestly have a 6 way tie...Maybe a 5 way...
Thats why I can't rank the albums. They each have a character of their own - some days I think Diver Down is the coolest album ever. Some days not.

Rumour has it that Van Halen have continued in recent years with a new lead signer, but since there 1985 breakup, nobody involved has ever recaptured that spontaneous cheeseburger magic!
ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE
I'm a bonafide Eddie fan and I cannot fucking stomach the VH III album.
I have been playing the ROTH era cd's constantly 4 2 dayz now...
I guess it's all subjective, but it's jus 2 fuckin' hard 2 rank them in order. my reason 4 sayin' that iz, there'z jus no filler in there!
ROTH really marked hiz territory within thoze songs, his attitude, his personality, and that fuckin' ROTH scream...u jus can't tuch it... and they still shine and still kick ass today az they did 20 yearz ago.
even the cover tunes, I love "You're No Good", damn...even "Dancing In The Streets", Dave's vocals are fuckin' sublime on that.
they alwayz play that song on our local Classic Rock station and I dare not one of u say u don't jam 2 dat shit when it comes on?
I dunno know...I love "In A Simple Rhyme"...
I love "The Full Bug"
I love "Top Jimmy"
I love "Atomic Punk"
I love "Outta Love Again"
"So this Is Love"....
fuckin' grade A pure Classic...!!!

"I ain't saying hello to no stuffed bear."
"You know, now that I think about it, it's going to take a little longer to sew up that shirt than I was thinking."
"Hi Fluffy, how you been?"
