I think VH would have beat any tour...but back in 1996. At this point, there's way too many faded VH fans...but we'll see.

I tell ya what...Eddie and Alex are making all the money. Wolfie will be getting his usual allowance and Dave will get $0.25 of all the proceeds.

This continues to be the most ridiculous question on the boards.

            Without a doubt...

            The POLICE!!!

Even if both bands played the same amount of shows at the same venues and charged the same ticket price...

The POLICE would sell out every venue and VH would not.

            Time and #'s will tell.

The Police. They'll play bigger venues and more of them. VH will do well, but there's no competition. Even in their prime, the Police were the bigger draw. VH was (and is) arena rock. The Police were (and still can be) a stadium band.

I will as soon as they go on sale!

I don't get the hair offa his arms line?

Is it a reference to Sting's hairline? If it is you'd better take a look at DLR's ridiculous looking hairdo. Sting's hair, voice and overall appearance can kick Dave's has been ass any day.

The Police, and it won't even be close. There is already more buzz about The Police and they haven't even confirmed a tour yet. If it were a full CVH reunion then it would be a closer call but even then I think The Police would win.

The other thing is the guys in the Police all like each other and will do 60 plus shows, from what I've read. It will take an act of god to get VH through their first 40.

I don't think either band has a chance of being the top grossing tour in 2007, unless the police do a full world tour.

If it was 1996...there'd be no question.

                          However, it's 2007.

Exactly. 1996 tour = highest grossing tour of the decade. But the way VH has pissed away their legacy the last 11 years by lying, drama, crappy music, & showing they don't give a fuck about Joe Fan, The Police will own this summer.

The sisters (especially Eddie) have done more damage to the Van Halen name since 1996 than Sammy could even imagined of doing from 1985-1996.

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday about reunion tours. They said that VH is guaranteed $850,000 a show. For 40 shows, they would gross $34 million-from tickets alone. Definitely a success. The Police were mentioned as well. What it comes down to is ticket prices and number of shows.
