Picked this up at a couple of other sites... hopefully BS from radio DJ's but who frickin knows?
According to Management, the Van Halen Tour with David Lee Roth has been indefinitely postponed. When Van Halen's management announced the tour on February 2nd, there still was no contract signed. Van Halen's management is now Eddie's girlfriend. Apparently Eddie and Alex had been rehearsing with Eddie's son, Wolfgang. The New "Best of" CD highlighting the David Lee Roth years has also been scrapped by Rhino.

I doubt it's cancelled or postponed. Here's why.......
Too much press has gone out about this recently. They wouldn't have given the Rolling Stone interview or even posted the reunion with Dave info on the VH official site had the contracts not been signed already. They may be fuck-ups in a lot of respects but I think they all learned a big lesson from 1996.
Also......
If the contracts had not been signed in advance, there is no way Live Nation would even begin setting up this tour. Even if it was with Gaygar the contracts would have to be signed first. How did VH know, and post on their official site, that it would be a 40 date tour? Because Live Nation contractually agreed to that many shows with the members of the band that signed the dotted line.
And.........
They have been really cautious this time around. Lips are sealed really tight in the DLR & VH camps this time. In 2002 there were leaks of info that was correct. And we all know what happened in 1996.
Don't you think Ed would want to be 100% certain before releasing the news of a Dave/VH reunion of sorts?

Yeah, I don't think that they would be releasing new band photos if there were still contract issues, especially after what happened with past reunion attempts.

We learned last night from a source close to the band that Van Halen's reunion tour with David Lee Roth has been "indefinitely postponed." While Eddie, Alex, Dave and Eddie's son Wolfgang (replacing bassist Michael Anthony) have been rehearsing, their plans are now up in the air. We were told that when Eddie's girlfriend (and spokesperson) announced the reunion on February 2nd, there was no signed deal between the band, Roth and tour promoter Live Nation.
A Van Halen best-of highlighting the Roth years has also been scrapped by Rhino. A source at the label tells us they were unable to make a deal for the planned release.
Regardless of all this drama, Van Halen will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York on March 12th.
The last time Van Halen toured with David Lee Roth was in 1984. The last time Van Halen toured was in 2004 with Sammy Hagar.
We were unable to reach representatives for the Van Halen brothers last night. Roth's spokeswoman declined to comment. --Sal Cirrincione

So unless DLR's interview was bs and his Rolling Stone interview bs and the photoshoot bs I'd keep a wait and see attitude. I'm still reluctant to put too much stock in this rumor. Without a DLR EVH reunion EVH might as well start offering guitar lessons.

The idea of this all falling apart pisses me off beyond belief! IF it all falls apart and they do not perform at the Hall of Fame they can all go to hell. I'll keep the 6 CVH remasters in frequent rotation, but I won't support ANYTHING ELSE DOWN THE ROAD! Eddie Van Halen could give a shit about VH fans! I'll go see the Atomic Punks play before VH, they will sound better anyway. If Dave explains that he wasn't part of the problem I will believe him because he has always been a straight forward with his fans (ei 1996 reunion), but there is a good chance his ego would be a factor. Its been a lot of time since it was first reported on radio stations--and there has been NOTHING reported on it from CNN, FOX News, Billboard, Rolling Stone, MTV, etc.

Not to be Capt. obvious, but if it's Clear Channel stations and if this is a Clear Channel tour, then that would lend to the credibility of this.

I have to say, I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. They did the same thing in '96...and nobody believed the rumors of Gary Cherone when they first started appearing.
